I once slept for around 24 hrs. straight. I was in my mid 20's. I used to have bad insomnia and I had been awake for 3 days straight. I finally fell asleep and was out like a light. I woke up and was totally confused at what day and time it was.

I recently slept 24 hours after working 2 16 hour shifts with only 8 hours between the shifts. (I worked 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday and again Friday)

Just on a regular day, not sick, recovering from surgery, or after an all-nighter studying or working or any special case like that?

14 hours.

Usually I can't stay in bed for more than about 7, 7.5, however. My back starts to stiffen up, and too much sleep makes me feel just as miserable as not enough.

Usually, about 7 hours.....8 hours, and I have a headache! Even if I have a cold and don't feel good, 7 hours....and then I hit the recliner.
