Besides the two minute bit to get up and go to the bathroom and then hopping back in bed what is the longest that you have continuously slept and what caused you to sleep so long?

My record is about 23 hours. I took a flight from Los Angeles, Ca to Bangkok, Thailand. The flight itself was I believe about 16 hours and then there was a couple of layovers. I also had to spend a few hours in transit between when I woke up in LA that morning and before I got to my hotel in Bangkok. I remember I finally got to my hotel in Bangkok around 11am their time. I took a shower etc... laid down b/c I knew I was tired although I was so excited to be there. I woke up a couple of times to go to the bathroom and I remember I finally woke up and I could see daylight coming in through the window. I looked at the clock and it said 12:30. I was thinking "wow did I only sleep for a 1/2 hour?" I soon realized that it was in fact the next day and I had slept nearly 23 hours.

What are some of your stories?

When not sick? I once slept 16 hours after a really exhausting week at work.

I think 14 hours when I wasn't sick ... I've done that quite a few times when I needed to catch up on my sleep.

Fourteen hours.

Many years ago, a friend and I drove to Alabama from Indiana, a 14 hour trip from point to point. We only stopped at fast food joints to grab something to eat on the road, change drivers, and go to the bathroom while we were there. Since we didn't stop much, and exceeded the speed limit, we made it in 9 hours. We were exhausted!

We arrived at our destination about 3:30pm, so we decided to take a nap and asked to be awakened for the Saturday night family dinner. When I got up, there was a preacher on the TV. I said to my friend's father, "Oh, they have preachers on TV here in Alabama on Saturday afternoons too?" Imagine my surprse when he said, "Sautrday afternoon?!?! Honey, it's Sunday morning. You guys were so tired we just let you sleep."

LOL

It was over 24 hours of sleep maybe closer to 30 hours. We had gone to Las Vegas one winter and after the first day I was ill with a bad flu. When we got back to the hotel room I crashed for 24 ~ 30 hours without getting out of bed.

I awoke when the guy tied a toe-tag on my right foot at the morgue ,,,,

10 hours, maybe. I'm a morning person so if there is any light outside, I wake up. 7-8 hours is my normal and I try to strictly adhere to it unless it's my weekend.

I did this when I moved. Wisconsin to NC ~1000 miles straight through. Took us around 16 hours and I was awake the whole time. My dad mostly drove, thankfully. Indiana is such a long boring state on the highway LOL.

Drove 33 hours straight through from Minneapolis MN to Phoenix AZ with only some pit stops and a couple of 1/2 hour rest stops. Crashed for 24 hours. Never again.
