Happy weekend, kids! Scroll on down for Today's Tip.

FEED A COLD

It's true that chicken soup is good for a cold! It containes cysteine, which is something that helps thin mucus and relieve your congestion. It can also reduce inflammmation in the lungs.

Yogurt is cool and creamy and not only feels good going down your scratchy throat, but is also rich in zinc. Zinc supports your immune system.

Vitamin C doesn't prevent or cure colds, but it can help you feel better. It has a bit of an antihistamine effect and can help your nasal symptoms.

Strong-flavored foods such as garlic and hot peppers can help break up your nasal and sinus congestion.

Red meat and oysters contain lots of zinc and are a great source of protein.

Drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids when you have a cold or flu. Wine, beer and other alcoholic drinks dilate small blood vessels and make your sinuses feel stuffy. Alcohol also reduces the body's ability to fight infection.

Hey, and all the time I thought a good shot of whiskey or two cured all colds, except that nasty new strain of flu.

Totally agree, great tips, PJ!

Now, if we could just get SATX to get his annual flu shots!

Take care all & have a fan-tab-u-lous weekend!

Never realized why chicken soup is used for such sickness in so many countries. It is widely used and you feel soooooo good when you are sick.
Sending some virtual chicken soup to Satx.
