Good morning, Peevers! Have you noticed what people are wearing in public these days? When I was growing up, ladies used to wear dresses, high heels, hats and gloves to go downtown. I wouldn't want to go back to the 1950s, but come on! Nowadays you see shoppers at the grocery store in sloppy t-shirts and pajama bottoms looking like they just fell out of bed. And what's with letting your underwear show? I really don't want to see your skivvies or your bra straps, I don't care what trendy color they are. Don't even get me started on flip-flops and those awful fleece-lined Ugg boots that look like bedroom slippers. What ever happened to making an effort to look well groomed and presentable when you go out? That's today's peeve.

LOL - when I go out I don't really care about what others think about me unless I'm with family members. Sometimes I don't shave, sometimes I wear flip-flops, sometimes I wear a shirt with holes, sometimes I wear frayed jeans. I really couldn't care less about what others think when it comes to how I dress.
I am who I am - and I'm comfortable with who I am. If you are uncomfortable with how I look I suggest you look the other way.
And, no - I don't also have bad manners .
BTW - when we try to impress others, often it is only ourselves we succeed in impressing .
I think trying to be neat and clean is showing respect.
Don't have to be dressed to the hilt but PJ?s and that fall out of bed look is just showing that you don't give a flying hoot what you look and that you don't have mch respect.
It gives off a negative vibe like you just don't give a dang.
The visible body parts ..well........I don't think some people really see themselves as they really look.
have a hoot of day...............oh.......visit hooters.

I think it boils down to self-esteem, or the lack thereof.
On the other hand, people differ in ways they wish to be noticed. Some dress to send the message that they don't give a darn, others dress to send the message that they have their act together. To each his own.
Think some people either don't realize how they look or flat out don't care. In some ways it must be rather freeing to just not give a darn what anyone else thinks.
