Good morning everyone and welcome to QOTD for Tuesday, December 17th 2013. It wasn’t until I typed in today’s date that I realised how close it is to Christmas! I guess it’s time to get organised. Trying not to panic! It’ll be a busy week, that’s for sure.

Today’s Question:

If you celebrate Christmas, are you having it at home or at someone else’s place? Tell us a little about your plans.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store?

Dozed off in a work meeting?

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)?

Fallen in love at first sight?

Made a call to a talk-back radio show?

Bonus Question:

The inspiration for this question comes from Ketabcha – thanks K!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? (You can include slippers, flip-flops, boots, sandals, etc)

Just for fun:

Are you allergic to any food items? If yes, which ones?

Thought for the Day:

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. (Author Unknown)

Today Is:

National Maple Syrup Day
National Underdog Day
Wright Brothers Day

Seven days!! Yay! Seven days!!!

Today’s Question:

If you celebrate Christmas, are you having it at home or at someone else’s place? Tell us a little about your plans.
That depends. This year I am invited by my son to celebrate in his home.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store?
Sure. Many times.

Dozed off in a work meeting?
Yep, that happened few times. Once I woke up, because I snored Work meetings can be very boring...

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)?
Yes, on the road, when I witnessed a car accident. I was trying to call 911 and performing a CPR at the same time. I remember it was cold and raining...

Fallen in love at first sight?
Probably, when I was very young. When I got older it took me way longer, and nowadays I do not fall for that anymore

Made a call to a talk-back radio show?
No, but I learned that there is a system. My coworker used to call a lot, and was the first (or whatever # was required) caller most of the times.

Bonus Question:

The inspiration for this question comes from Ketabcha – thanks K!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? (You can include slippers, flip-flops, boots, sandals, etc)
I have no idea - 50? 60?, I would guess (I also have some at my son's house, at work and in the car)

Just for fun:

Are you allergic to any food items? If yes, which ones?
Not that I know.

Thought for the Day:

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. (Author Unknown) Good observation!!

Today Is:

National Maple Syrup Day ...
National Underdog Day - is there an Overdog Day too??
Wright Brothers Day

Wishing you all a happy Tuesday!!

* * * Countdown To Christmas * * *

At Christmas, I hope I will always be surrounded by those I love and who love me - location is irrelevant.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store?

Not sure

Dozed off in a work meeting?

Not yet

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)?

Yes

Fallen in love at first sight?

Married her

Made a call to a talk-back radio show?

No thanks - they really don't care about what we have to say

Bonus Question:

How many pairs of shoes do you own? (You can include slippers, flip-flops, boots, sandals, etc)

I own all of them

Just for fun:

Are you allergic to any food items? If yes, which ones?

What on earth are you gonna do with that info?

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store? Yes, a tag-team of 'em blantantly stuffing things into bags they'd brought into the store - reported to store security.

Dozed off in a work meeting? Really close to it several times when they kept droning on.

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)? Yes, have called in several auto accidents over the years.

Fallen in love at first sight? Hmmm, looking back, it was more like "fallen in stupid"!

Made a call to a talk-back radio show? No

Bonus Question:

I plead the fifth, I have no idea for real, but way too many for one person I'm sure, especially with so many never even worn yet... but, you just never know, if the occasion arises, I'll be ready, besides, most were on sale! This is something both my youngest DD and I readily admit to (to each other), but at least we do good most every year by donating quite a few to the women's shelter.

Today’s Question:

Still not sure what my plans are. Kind of looking like I will be home. If that is the case I will probably do a little cooking but not much else. Maybe go for a drive.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store?
Once saw a couple fill half the back seat of their car with groceries. The car pulled up to the entrance and the guy just started tossing items from his cart into the car. He got about half the items into the car when he just pushed the still half full cart away and hopped in the car. They then sped off.

Dozed off in a work meeting?
Nope

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)?
Nope

Fallen in love at first sight?
So many times I have lost count

Made a call to a talk-back radio show?
Nope. I would rather watch ice cubes melt than listen to talk radio

Bonus Question:

The inspiration for this question comes from Ketabcha – thanks K!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? (You can include slippers, flip-flops, boots, sandals, etc)
At least one pair

Just for fun:

Are you allergic to any food items? If yes, which ones?
Hazel nuts. Use to be able to eat them. But about 30 years ago I became allergic to them.

Today’s Question:

If you celebrate Christmas, are you having it at home or at someone else’s place? Tell us a little about your plans. Celebrating with friends at a restaurant this Friday, Christmas with my daughters & their families on Sunday at my younger daughter's, Christmas Eve with sibs & cousins, location hasn't been decided upon, and Christmas Day with extended family at our family home.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store? Yes

Dozed off in a work meeting? No

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)? Twice

Fallen in love at first sight? When I was 16.

Made a call to a talk-back radio show? No

Bonus Question:

The inspiration for this question comes from Ketabcha – thanks K!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? (You can include slippers, flip-flops, boots, sandals, etc) From reading others who've already posted, maybe not an unusual amount. I'd say fifteen to twenty.

Just for fun:

Are you allergic to any food items? If yes, which ones?
No food allergies.

Thought for the Day:

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. (Author Unknown) With my family it's the opposite.

It's negative 12 here..... Not looking forward to walking out the door this morning. Have a good day, all!

Today’s Question:

If you celebrate Christmas, are you having it at home or at someone else’s place? Tell us a little about your plans. I'm not able to have the same type of Christmas celebration these days so.......For the first time ever, we aren't having a family Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. My kids have decided they wanted to do a Christmas Eve celebration. I'm not a big fan of this idea, but am supporting it as they both have in laws to satisfy too. It leaves us with no where to go no Christmas Day so we are going to the casino to eat and play. It's sad but things change.

On Christmas Eve we are having vegetable soup, ham sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, chips, appetizers, fruit tray and birthday cake for Mr. Chickie.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever –

Seen a shoplifter taking something from a store? Yes...one day I was in line at the grocery store and two security guards decided to apprehend the culprit right in front of me....they jumped over my cart and grabbed the guy with the meat stuffed in his coat and pants who was standing in line in front of me....guess he was going to pay for a few items. These guards about knocked me over doing their job...and scared me to death.

Dozed off in a work meeting? yes

Made a 911 call (or whatever the emergency number is in your country)? yes

Fallen in love at first sight? yes

Made a call to a talk-back radio show? yes

Bonus Question:

The inspiration for this question comes from Ketabcha – thanks K!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? (You can include slippers, flip-flops, boots, sandals, etc) I am a shoe horse.....probably have 50 pairs at least.

Wright Brothers Day without these boys, we might still be walking places.

Thanks Kobber....to everyone, one more week and Santa comes during the night. Have a great day.

Christmas, as usual, will be Christmas dinner and the telly. Just the three of us, me, Judy, and her mother MD. We have a nice day together, and talk about loved ones no longer with us, and raise a glass to their memory.

I have made a 999 call a few times in the past. Once for when my wife took ill suddenly, and another when my dad died while staying with us. I hope I never have to make another such call.

I did fall in love at first sight when I was a little boy. She was a girl at my infant school called Adele. She had blonde braids, and blue eyes. I adored her quietly for many years. After we finished school, I never saw her again. She will be a 60 year old woman now. She remains a beautiful young girl in my memory.

Had a problem once with shrimp and crab. Since then I stay away. Had allergy shots that confirmed.

I have also had multiple problems in the past with drinking milk so I stay away from that as well.

Hope everyone has a great day!
