I'm posting a bit later than usual as I've been up to see my mother.
I've been helping her out with her finances. Without going into details, unfortunately she is prone to give into smooth talking sales people and over the years had made some very dubious financial decisions.
Today's peeve is a bit more serious than most I post here but it is also one that we should all be careful about.

Jezer;33248692]Good morning peevers.
The POTD is; People who try to take financial advantage of the vulnerable.
That's one of my strong points!
My husband is the trustworthy soul who talks on the phone with sales people, is mannerly, and is a gentle person. If I walk in the room and discover that.....I Take the Phone From His Hand, Tell That Person to Not Call Again, and Hang it UP!!!!
If my husband is at the front door, and is ready to invite in a salesperson.....I Call the Town Police and Have The Salesperson Arrested For Soliciting!!!!
People who try to take financial advantage of the vulnerable.
Yes I know someone who is a victim of being taken advantage of. They're a salesman's dream. I have to watch closely over them to protect them. Good peeve.

The scum of the earth, Jezer! Trying to sort out my dad's finances was a full-time job when I went to take care of him when he was terminally ill... it was appalling to uncover some of the dealings he'd had, especially from those that he considered to be some of his closest friends! The best thing you can do is get a Power of Attorney over both their health and finances and clean house of the scum-sucking clutter!
On a brighter note, great photos Jezer, always appreciated! .

That's a real good one, Jezer. My dad, when he was battling cancer and near the end of his life, was taken advantage of. He gave out his credit card info to someone on the phone who called about a miraculous new medicine that could cure cancer. Fortunately, the caller only made one purchase on Dad's card, for a couple hundred dollars. It could have been a lot worse. Dad also, in desperation toward the end, sent money to a psychic who said she could provide him with a good-luck talisman and lucky numbers. Both of these transactions were totally out of character for my dad; he was sharp as a tack to the end. But I guess he had a couple of momentary lapses in judgment when he was in terrible pain and suffering.
