For a claims manager to return your call before escalating to a manager or social media?

My husband is severely disabled and receives disability payments from a private company. He paid extra for these benefits throughout his 30 years of employment with the same employer. Suddenly, the payment has stopped as of last month.

I called his claims manager twice yesterday and got voice mail indicating he was in the office, but away from his desk each time. I left messages both times. It is now over 24 hrs. later and I have not heard from him.

I used to work in a similar job and never let a call go without responding within a few hours. Even if I had to tell them I needed to figure out the issue and get back to them, I would call and let them know that.

What say you? Should I wait until Monday or post on Facebook this weekend. This company is notorious
for ignoring phone calls. We had to spend 8k for a lawyer to get his claim approved.

Sorry you're having so much trouble, I think I would keep calling until you get someone. I don't know that social media is the answer but you could try if you think that would help. You're right, when working in a customer service position it was always stressed to me to call customers back even if you don't have an answer for them at the time. Everyone appreciates a return phone call. Good luck.

Contact your state Attorney Generals Office.. On line or a phone call.. then go to your State Representatives online or phone .. Then to your States Elder Care Advisory Group.. Online or phone call.. If you have a Senior Center near by walk in and ask them for help... Not a Nursing Home.. a Seniors Center most communities have them..

Default Update

One brief post asking for help on Cigna's Facebook page and I was talking to someone within the hour. The problem is now resolved.

Amazing what public shaming will accomplish, eh? It's just a shame one has to resort to that to get a company to do what it's supposed to do.
