Now, this may sound stupid.

Why do governments need to be political, and why can't they just be there to do a job, and that is, to look after the safety, health, and happiness of their nation's people and environment?

IMHO because those acts involve caring people which of course excludes politicians.

Because governments are composed of people. And these people come from our society, of our times. They don't come from the planet Mars, sliding down on a ray of light. The are representatives of the current society.

Are the people around thinking about safety, health, happiness and the environment? I mean...most of them, are they thinking about all these? Not really.

No, it's money, for things that they don't need.

As for the ray of light; I volunteer.

So, therefore, politicians, are the wrong ones for the job. Maybe they need to be sent off to an unheated shed, to shout at each other, and stop harming the rest of society.

I have a date today, I'm going to the dump.

It's called a recycling centre these days, but, same thing.

Life, is as good as it gets.

Why do I have to keep proving I'm human?

Do robots really need to buy tools, insurance, or even a boat ride?

I should have gone today, but I'll go tomorrow. I already got soaked once, don't want to chance it again.

Thanks, Motor. That complicates things more, I think.
