Today's Hairy Questions:
It's Love Your Red Hair Day. What color is your hair? Brown
Have you ever dyed your hair? Never

Any experience you've had with hair cutting, barber shops, beauty salons, etc.:
It used to be more pleasurable than it is now. The barber shop I go to changed owners about 5 years ago. The new guy is just as good, and that's why I still go there, but the problem is he just won't stop talking. The previous barber could cut hair and talk at the same time, this guy can't. It doesn't bother me that much overall, I only get my hair cut about once every 2 months, sometimes longer.

Bonus Section:
Have you ever worked for a company or organization that went belly up or almost did?
No
Have you or yours had a second or third career?
No
How about a second childhood?
Nope
It's Memoir Writing Month.
If you were to write a memoir, what part(s) of your life would it focus on?
Not really much interesting that others would want to read, so I'll pass.
If you could, would you attend an opera -all expenses paid- or would you rather skip it? Skip it! Can't stand opera.
Or have you already been to an opera?
No. I have a very strong dislike for opera or any other kind of "classical" music.

Foodie Questions:
Tell us as many as you like, food or beverage flavors that combine well:
None I know of
Food or drink flavors that should never be combined or only with extreme caution :
Anything salty and watermelon....YUCK!!!!!!

Just for fun:
If you lived in a house in the city or 'burbs, Would you rather live:
-on a corner lot?
-in the middle of a block?
-down a cul-de-sac or dead end street? This is where I live now. I personally like it, as there's much less traffic noise. It was also great when I was growing up and riding my bike with fewer cars going up and down. The only disadvantage is that, since our street doesn't connect through like most of the others in my neighborhood, there's only one way out.

Today's Hairy Questions:
It's Love Your Red Hair Day. What color is your hair? Brown.
Have you ever dyed your hair? Yup.
Any experience you've had with hair cutting, barber shops, beauty salons, etc.: Nothing too bad, though I've had some bad cuts over the years.

Have you ever worked for a company or organization that went belly up or almost did? No, thank goodness.

Have you or yours had a second or third career? Yes. I was a teacher of the blind for many years in New Zealand. My second career was fund raising for non-profit hospitals in Wisconsin.

How about a second childhood? You mean doing what I want to do when I want to do it? Sure. That's retirement and it's great!

If you were to write a memoir, what part(s) of your life would it focus on? Probably my working life -- personal life is enjoyable but not particularly interesting to others.

If you could, would you attend an opera -all expenses paid- or would you rather skip it? It would depend on where it was and who was performing.
Or have you already been to an opera? Nope -- just light opera like Gilbert and Sullivan.

Thanks bjh and happy Thursday everyone!

Today's Hairy Questions:
It's Love Your Red Hair Day. What color is your hair? My white hair loves my grandchildren who are all red-headed.
Have you ever dyed your hair? Not even with Grecian Formula.

Any experience you've had with hair cutting, barber shops, beauty salons, etc.: I once had an uncle who loved bowl haircuts. We avoided his shop.

Bonus Section:
Have you ever worked for a company or organization that went belly up or almost did?
I had left years before the buyout/closing but I once worked as a machinist at a large Texas machine shop industry that was recently bought out by GE then closed down this year.

Have you or yours had a second or third career? I've always had something going on the side but the closest thing to a second career would be our online bookstore while I worked as a government biologist.

How about a second childhood? No. It's always been onward and upward for my wife and I.

It's Memoir Writing Month.
If you were to write a memoir, what part(s) of your life would it focus on? I have no plans to write any memoirs but, if I did, it would be about growing up on a deep east Texas farm with a water well with a rope & a bucket on a pulley, a fishing pond, flowing creeks, thick pine forests and us kids building tree houses in the summertime. It would definitely mention the tiny boat I built one summer out of scrap wood and tar and launched somewhat successfully into our farm pond. It would also mention my mom buying our fall school shoes at the local Sears & Roebuck and my always-with-me dog and friend Dusty.

Except for my marriage to my wife, and our lives together outside of work, the rest of my life would be placed in a very short chapter or maybe just mentioned in the preface on the dust jacket which I would hope would soon get lost or thrown away.

If you could, would you attend an opera -all expenses paid- or would you rather skip it? Sure if I could pick the show. I've always had a mild interest in why a fat lady singing signifies the end of anything.
Or have you already been to an opera? I've been to the Grand Ole Opry twice. No fat ladies singing there though .

Foodie Questions:
Tell us as many as you like, food or beverage flavors that combine well: Used to like salt, sugar and chocolate.

Food or drink flavors that should never be combined or only with extreme caution : Can't think of anything.

Just for fun:
If you lived in a house in the city or 'burbs, Would you rather live:
-on a corner lot?
-in the middle of a block?
-down a cul-de-sac or dead end street?
We've had homes in all four city scenarios but, right now, our city home is on a big cul-de-sac which has been very nice for its lack of traffic and parking space.

God willing though, our city and suburban living will soon end.

Thanks for asking BJH. Wishing everyone a great day
