Many, couldn't name just one and I wouldn't want to leave anyone out.

Bonus Section:
I remember seeing Star Wars in a crowded theater in 1977.
Did you see Star Wars during its original releases in '77 or '78?
Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?"
No interest. I didn't know who Carrie Fisher was but her death has been dominating the news so I do now.
I do not follow Hollywood...

Extra Credit:
Can you name another movie of any genre you that you especially remember seeing?
- I've seen almost all Michael Moore movies and I can relate.

Has anyone spoiled a movie for you by telling you about it beforehand? - No. I'm really not much of a movie buff. I think most would be surprised on how few I have seen.
Prefer concerts in small venues and some sporting events, especially women's college basketball. Cheap, fun entertainment.

From ticket prices to concessions to annoying moviegoers or anything else big or small,
do you have a movie-going memory that sticks in your mind?
- Not really.

Foodie Questions:
Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay?
- Sure, but it's been awhile...

Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it? - No, and no thank you regarding coffee.

Just for Fun:
In a restaurant would you like a booth or a table?
- Booth, but rarely go.

Do you like those big, circular corner booths when you're with a lot of people? - The latter part is a very rare experience. I do not recall I ever sat in one.

About a month ago I experienced it as I was invited to a birthday party at a diner. I spotted and suggested we wait for 2 tables that were clearing out which meant 3 tables right next to each other. It turned out to be a good move as we were headed for multiple booths. In cases like this tables make more sense. There were about 15 people there and all had a great time.

Thanks, bjh.
Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

The news is my general source. Many will be missed.

Bonus Section:
I remember seeing Star Wars in a crowded theater in 1977.
Did you see Star Wars during its original releases in '77 or '78?
Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?" Love them all along with the Indiana Jones series and The Lord of the Rings series. Going to see the Rogue Thursday night I believe.

Extra Credit:

Many!
Has anyone spoiled a movie for you by telling you about it beforehand?
Not really!
From ticket prices to concessions to annoying moviegoers or anything else big or small,
do you have a movie-going memory that sticks in your mind?
Not really. Just of my early movie going days in magical castle like theaters we had in the past.

Foodie Questions:
Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay?
I don't really hate it but we've had it too often and I always say no.
Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it?
---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee_substitute
Heard of it but don't know whether I've had it.

Just for Fun:
In a restaurant would you like a booth or a table? We/I usually prefer a table. Unless the gkids are along and rowdy.
Do you like those big, circular corner booths when you're with a lot of people?
At times.

'Tis sad, there have been so many this year, has a way of making you feel really old to see all of these people you've watched, listened to & enjoyed all through the years age so, then suddenly be gone!

I remember seeing Star Wars in a crowded theater in 1977.
Did you see Star Wars during its original releases in '77 or '78?
Sometime later I think.
Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?"
Never really interested

Extra Credit:

Hundreds over the years from the 60s on!

Has anyone spoiled a movie for you by telling you about it beforehand?
Don't think so.

From ticket prices to concessions to annoying moviegoers or anything else big or small,
do you have a movie-going memory that sticks in your mind?
My DDs worked part-time at our neighborhood movie theater a few summers in their teens, which came w/free admission benefits for the whole family that we fully enjoyed!

Foodie Questions:
Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay?

Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it?
Parents used to buy Eight O'Clock coffee w/chicory from the A&P when I was a kiddo, but haven't seen any since except in Louisiana, strong enough to walk on its on there!

Today's Question(s):
Actress and author Carrie Fisher died this Tuesday the 27th.

How has any famous person(s) death come to your attention or made an impression on you?
Robin Williams's death was a big shock. I also vividly remember the shock when I saw on CNN that Michael Jackson was dead.

Bonus Section:
I remember seeing Star Wars in a crowded theater in 1977.
Did you see Star Wars during its original releases in '77 or '78?
Yes
Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?"
It's not my thing. I saw the original once and never again, and I haven't seen any of the sequels in their entirety. I actually fell asleep at the theater in the middle of The Empire Strikes Back.

Extra Credit:
Can you name another movie of any genre you that you especially remember seeing?
I liked the movie Joy.
Has anyone spoiled a movie for you by telling you about it beforehand?
Not that I can recall.
From ticket prices to concessions to annoying moviegoers or anything else big or small,
do you have a movie-going memory that sticks in your mind?
My most memorable movie experience was going to see My Fair Lady with my first boyfriend, Bill. It was our second date, I was all of 16 years old and I was in heaven because he held my hand. The movie was wonderful, too.

Foodie Questions:
Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay?
Yes, I like them.

Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it?
---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee_substitute
Yes, I've heard of it, but it's not a thing here so I don't think I've ever tried it.

Just for Fun:
In a restaurant would you like a booth or a table?
Booth
Do you like those big, circular corner booths when you're with a lot of people?
Yes, those booths are fun.
Thanks, bjh!

Today's Question(s):
Actress and author Carrie Fisher died this Tuesday the 27th.
Then her mom Debbie Reynolds died the following day. So sad, I believe she died of a broken heart. They were extremely close.
How has any famous person(s) death come to your attention or made an impression on you? No impressions, but sad to see anyone pass away.

Bonus Section:
I remember seeing Star Wars in a crowded theater in 1977.
Did you see Star Wars during its original releases in '77 or '78? No, not a fan.
Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?"

Extra Credit:
Can you name another movie of any genre you that you especially remember seeing? 'Shane', 1953 and 'No time for Sargents', 1958, and then there's 'Forrest Gump' in 1994, the last movie I've seen in a theater.

Has anyone spoiled a movie for you by telling you about it beforehand? Don't recall.

From ticket prices to concessions to annoying moviegoers or anything else big or small,
do you have a movie-going memory that sticks in your mind? Haven't been to a theater in over 20 years, do have a few movie DVD's bought at ridiculous low prices of $2.00, but have yet to watch them. Too many other important things to do. As a teenager I worked one summer at a drive-in theater, funny stuff then/there.

Foodie Questions:
Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay? Love it, great comfort food.

Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it? Heard of it but haven't tried it.

In a restaurant would you like a booth or a table? Booth only, comfort for the back.
Do you like those big, circular corner booths when you're with a lot of people? Yes, fun to play footsies.

How has any famous person(s) death come to your attention or made an impression on you? Prince's was a big shock to me, because I always thought he was above drug addiction (he was so self-disciplined). "Pain" can sure make the strongest break down.

Bonus Section:
I remember seeing Star Wars in a crowded theater in 1977.
Did you see Star Wars during its original releases in '77 or '78? I did. I was living in Austin, TX, then.
Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?" I liked it but never had the urge to see the others.

Extra Credit:
Can you name another movie of any genre you that you especially remember seeing? "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" around the same time. Creeped the living Hell out of me!

Has anyone spoiled a movie for you by telling you about it beforehand? No. I don't get particularly bothered by spoilers.

From ticket prices to concessions to annoying moviegoers or anything else big or small,
do you have a movie-going memory that sticks in your mind? Ha! I'll never forget the one-time adventure of going to see "Rocky Horror Picture Show". People in the theater tossed all kind of stuff and hooted and howled to certain scenes. It was fun but just once was enough. That movie played at that same theater in Portland for about 20 years.

Foodie Questions:
Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay? It's okay. Not a favorite.

Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it? Yes. In fact, I have some from New Orleans.

In a restaurant would you like a booth or a table? I don't have a preference but my husband always wants tables.
Do you like those big, circular corner booths when you're with a lot of people? No, I do not.

Today's Bonus Quote: I've no doubt that the stress of Carrie's death did her in, too. Tragedy. So sad.

I learned this morning of the passing of Debbie Reynolds. To most younger people, they won't even know who she is. To golden age movie buffs like me, she represented the last of the trio of stars in the greatest musical ever made, 'Singing In The Rain.'

Debbie made the news in the late 50s when her husband, singer Eddie Fisher left her to marry Elizabeth Taylor. She even forgave that with, "well, who could resist Liz Taylor?" Debbie learned to entertain, and she loved to do so.

The manner, and circumstance of her death is just so sad. RIP beautiful girl.

It has been a bad year for deaths of the famous. The one who made the greatest impression on me was Muhammad Ali. I grew up watching him fight, and listening to his funny chat. Like Debbie, he made you smile.

I did see Star Wars on it's original release. I just thought it was an entertaining movie at the time, no big deal. I did wonder what Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness were doing in this piece of hokum......... Seeing it in more recent times, I recognise that Guinness in particular, gave it some gravitas, and helped the movie immensely.

I read a story where a little boy was awestruck to meet him in his later years. Alec was astonished that of all his great acting roles, he would be remembered not for his Oscar winning performance in Bridge on the River Kwai, but for something he dismissed as a bit of an embarrassment for a serious actor as himself. I do believe he made more money from Star Wars than all his other films added together.

I took my son to see 'Return of the Jedi' in a theater, and Carrie Fisher made a great impression on him as a six year old boy. He is very upset at her passing, as I am at her mother's.

A film that made a great impression on me as a boy was Geronimo, starring Chuck Connors. I stayed for two showings, and when I arrived home, my dad was angry at me, as he was concerned where I was. I sat through it twice with my friend Michael. We thought it was a great movie. Many years later, it came on the telly. I sat down to watch it with my young son. I sat in anticipation of seeing greatness on celluloid. Well, it was just terrible.......... Blue eyed Chuck Connors playing Geronimo........

Yes I did have a movie spoiled for me by someone leaving the theater. My wife and I stood in line to see Titanic.......... someone leaving shouted, "the boat sinks..........."..........

How has any famous person(s) death come to your attention or made an impression on you?

Celebrity doesn't really affect me, but I remember vividly the moment I heard Heath Ledger died. We were close in age and it was so unexpected. I think that's what got me
.

Is there anything you like about Star Wars or is it not your "thing?"

I've never seen it. I do enjoy the cute little Ewok creatures though
.

Can you name another movie of any genre you that you especially remember seeing?

Flight of the Navigator. Still one of my favorites
.

Chicken and dumplings, yea or nay?

Yayyyyyyyy

Have you heard of chicory or had coffee with chicory in it?

Nayyyyyyyy

In a restaurant would you like a booth or a table?

I am a booth girl all the way.
