and by that I mean actually stay in the house? I stay indoors many years and this year too, with a drink and a movie. All my friends are bar hopping or at big parties carrying condoms and weed. I don't know how to feel about it so I thought I'd ask and if I am really that "weird". Anyone spend New Years home?
We prefer to stay home on New Years Eve but we have gone to friends parties over the years. We were at a fun party last year and that was the first year the girls weren't with us in about 4 years. I'm going to pick them up in a couple of hours. We'll probably do the zoo walk, watch a scary movie, and watch the ball drop in our pj's. That whole bar hopping scene is just not for me. Too many crazies out there these days.
Staying home doing nothing is what we usually do. Now, in the last 2-3 year we went out to enjoy bands we like for NY's Eve but not this time. My power bills this winter are going to be horrible, so I'm saving $.
Nothing is my middle name. The older I get the more I don't care to be out late with crazies. However when I was much younger I could deal with it easily. "Been there done that".
I do not remember the last time I went out and did anything on NYE. It's been at least 15 years. I've stayed home alone on this day for 11 years straight.
It's one of the worst nights to go out, IMO. I do not want to be around people who drink an excessive amount of alcohol, nor do I want to be out driving tonight.
For the last couple of years the 2 grandkids have not come over on New Years eve, so we have just spent a nice quiet evening at home. I think their mother has been thinking of more family things to do for the evening than going out on her own to parties, or maybe the parties are more family oriented.
