Unfortunately I had to take my old man down the hospital and as he has stayed in overnight I thought I'd stay in with my mum so she's not alone for NYE.... My first ever NYE staying in but family comes first.

Oh yes for sure as 2016 hasn't been the best year if not the worst..... so the only way is up

Lost an aunt, my 6 year old god daughter nearly got killed/paralysed by a hit and run driver and lost very close friend that in prison now, Had back trouble that nearly ended my career...... They are the ones that stand out plus a few others moments.
What was the best thing that happened to you in 2016?
I was still able to meet and greet a good few ladies of course!
What do you hope to accomplish in 2017?
I'd love to get myself back in shape and above all stay in shape, plus to keep on being as outgoing and social as possible

It's a very active night and I'm glad I did not go out. I've been up for about 40 minutes and I have heard 3 spaced out police sirens off in the distance so far...
That is probably what woke me up.
Just heard a speeding car. Probably the police again but maybe some idiot acting stupid under the influence.
It's usually quiet here. One thing obviously missing that I did not hear was fireworks. That is what usually wakes me up on this day. Can't remember the last time I did not hear them go off at midnight...
Are you looking forward to 2017? Why or why not? - There is nothing I can think of to look forward to. I'm scared of the upcoming administration and I'm not liking anything what I have heard so far.

My niece is having her second child, a girl, due this month, Started looking for a house to rent for a week at the beach in August, my daughters are happy, grands are healthy.

For the first time in years Mrs J and I stayed at home alone for what could well be our last New Year's Eve in the UK for a few years. Miss J finally managed to get back to Italy nearly a day late, courtesy of fog, and had a lovely NYE over there.
Are you looking forward to 2017? Why or why not?
Yes. We are making major changes and will be abroad for much of the year, possibly looking to make France our main residence.

Serious health scare to someone close to me, and secondly the result of the Brexit referendum.

Mrs J retiring early. Making the decision to live abroad and securing a house in France.

Finalise the house purchase, then spend time remodeling parts of it. Maybe sell the house here. It's going to be a very busy year.
