I remember life before phone and computer Hacks, Scams, etc.
Me too!
This isn't about scams per se but it is about getting unwanted phone calls.
I had a telephone number that continued to call me one to two times a day for about 5 days. I answered the call one time. They said hello [my name] and I answered before they could say more, please put me the on your no call list. They said okay and I hung up.
Some companies wouldn't agree to that or would just continue even if they did agree. Lucky for me they stopped calling.
I think the reason they called was I had answered an advertisement thinking it was a form for apartment searching. I finally read the fine print that I was filling out and it was a advertisement for insurance. I stopped filling it out but not before I gave my home address and phone- the reason they got the information was the form said click on NEXT after each needed information! I am lucky that they were willing to stop!
