Being old and feeling old is only in the mind of the person. That is why when asked my age reply....I'm a young 81.
Do have a Grandaughter age 32 (first grandchild) who is herself a mother of a 1 yr old girl.
I do remember as a 2-1/2 -3 yr old standing on my trilke....opening the gate lock...riding around the corner to the neighborhood bakery where I asked for the pastry (creampuffs).
The woman thought that my mother had sent me there so she put some in a bag...gave me one to eat and I rode home.
My mother quickly returned to pay for the pastry saying that I had gotton out of the locked yard.
Now this was in 1933-34 so "I am so old"....................
I remember when a pack of Marlboro was 79 cents, Schlitz 12oz beer was 50 cents, atari, commodore 64, pica/elite typewriter, and adult magazines were on shelves at stores.
.79 cents.. I was in the Navy and a Cartoon of hard pack Marlboro was $1.10 from ships stores.And at the PX it was $1.36 a cartoon. This was 1967 ...

I was getting the cigarettes at the PX for 19 cents a pack or $1.90 a carton back in 63~66 but that was the Army for you,,,, always charged a little more than the Navy PX..... or AF BX.

no wonder so many people smoked back then, it was almost as cheap as breathing!
