Being old and feeling old is only in the mind of the person. That is why when asked my age reply....I'm a young 81.

Do have a Grandaughter age 32 (first grandchild) who is herself a mother of a 1 yr old girl.

I do remember as a 2-1/2 -3 yr old standing on my trilke....opening the gate lock...riding around the corner to the neighborhood bakery where I asked for the pastry (creampuffs).

The woman thought that my mother had sent me there so she put some in a bag...gave me one to eat and I rode home.

My mother quickly returned to pay for the pastry saying that I had gotton out of the locked yard.

Now this was in 1933-34 so "I am so old"....................

Once upon a time, there was an engineer
Choo-Choo Charlie was his name, we hear
He had an engine and he sure had fun
He used Good 'n Plenty candy to make his train run

Charlie says, "Love my Good 'n Plenty."
Charlie says, "Really rings the bell."
[DING!]
Charlie says, "Love my Good 'n Plenty
Don't know any other candy that I love so well."

Good 'n Plenty
Good 'n Plenty
Good 'n Plenty...

During Korea in 1951-2 a carton of cigs was $1.00 a carton in Japan. Two packs would buy a qt of Nippon or Asahi beer.

door-to-door salesmen.
if you acted up badly enough, the bus driver would not hesitate to kick you off. no matter that you were 10 miles or more from home.
long distance calls costing a fortune and only being made on special occasions.
