How about a dark blue polyester suit, Eisenhower jacket, bell bottom pants with a wide white belt, white platform shoes, yea, men had them to, with the Glen Campbell haircut. What the hell was I ever thinking about....
- I remember gas in the sixty-cent range.
- The Little Rascals.
- Eating vanilla pudding out of a little, blue, plastic dish in my highchair when I was two, while my mom and dad were washing dishes.
- When Jimmy Carter became president.
- Fighting a lady in Kmart for a Cabbage Patch Doll for my little sister's birthday.
- When Atari and a Commodore 64 computer were THE things to have!
Gosh, this will really date me! My dad used to take us kids every place with him. I remember the day he drove home in his very first brand new car - a white 1950 Plymouth!
I was 4 yrs. old and it was a HAPPY DAY!
If he went to the gas station, we 3 kids would pile in the car and go along for the ride - and, maybe get to share a coke from the bottle machine for 5 cents! That was the only time we ever had what we called a soft drink. Oh, boy, those were the days.
Remember girls, when you were not allowed to go to school in anything but a skirt or dress? You could wear long pants under your dress in the winter, but had to take them off in the coat room before going to your desk.
My mom finally let me stop wearing corduroy pants under my dresses when I went to junior high school. No more coat room, just lockers in the hall. Now, how would I take off those long warm slacks!
Then, we would have to wait for the bus hunkered down on our haunches with our skirts draped down over our legs to keep from freezing to death. It was durn chilly in the mts. of PA in the winter!!

I remember my mother knitting new mittens for me and my brothers every year. They were usually good to go around Halloween.
Mom also bought me my first guitar when I was 13 using S&H Green Stamps.
And I remember thinking that you just weren't cool unless you owned a pair of white Levis and a pink button down shirt. (I may have been wrong about this)
I also recall a girl named Karen, who was my first ever dance partner in school. 4th grade sweethearts we were. Some years later she would become my - - - - - step sister!

I sure do. At my high school you had to stand in front of the dean's desk and if the hem of your skirt was at or higher than the edge of the desk you were sent home to change.
