I have been at my current rental address for eight years and still receive the previous tenants mail.
I write on the envelope - Not at this address and repost it.
Australia Post is suppose to deal with that information.
There are 30 units where I am and so much mail for previous tenants is delivered, it all goes straight in the bin because no one takes the time to redirect.

No, we have been here 29 years now and never got any mail for the previous owners. We do sometimes get mail (even election ballots) for my mother-in-law who died 8 years ago, and for a business I closed in 2009. We just toss it all in the recycling bin outside, it doesn't even come into the house.

My dad was in an assisted living facility from 2012-2014, then a nursing home till his death in '16. We kept getting calls from the ALF that he had mail out there. Most of it was junk but he had a credit card bill he kept getting. He hadn't used the card in years and the balance was 0 but they kept sending the bill. Finally stopped after I sent a copy of the death certificate. I told the nice ladies at the ALF to trash anything else they got addressed to him. That was 2 years after his death.
Funny part was he was "pre-approved" for a credit card a year after he died. lol
Almost four years now and I still get more mail addressed to the previous tenant then to myself. Most of it is junk, but their are some magazine subscriptions that still appear. occasionally receive mail for the previous previous tenant as well.

I learned that you should not have mail sent to an assisted living facility or nursing home. When mom had to be moved from assisted living to a nursing home, I found out that it was not possible to forward her mail. The post office forwarding rules are different for commercial establishments. When dad died and we eventually had to have mom put in assisted living, I should have changed her address to mine.
Yes I do. We've been living in our home for 2 1/2 years and we still get the previous owners mail. I've tried telling our postal man that they no longer live here but they don't seem to get it.
Yes, much longer than that. For more than 1 round of previous residents, it seems. Not often and each time it's vaguely administrative material. I don't know any of those people.
We have been in this house 6 years and still get mail addressed to the previous resident. We've had the same mailman this whole time and he knows those people are gone but he still puts their mail in our box.
