Hello, June Bugs! Let's get down to brass tacks with . . .

Today's Question(s):

Do you have any tacks, nails, or brads? Yes. I have several sizes of nails and brads.

What would you likely do with an old coffee can of rusty nails? I guess I'd try to clean them up with a vinegar and baking soda bath and then, after they were clean, I'd put them in my church's rummage sale. There are always some customers looking for tools and other odds and ends such as nails and screws.

Did you ever prepare trash for pick up only to realize it was a holiday? Funny you should ask! Thursday is garbage pick-up day here, and last night I put mine out for pick-up. Still a bit jetlagged from last week's vacation, it didn't occur to me that this past Monday was a holiday and that, consequently, garbage pick-up would be delayed till Friday. Oh well - better early than never! My dumpster is already out there for pick-up tomorrow.

Have you looked in the mailbox on a holiday or a Sunday? Yeppers.

Any other ways holidays screwed up your schedule? None that I can think of.

Foodie Question(s):
What recipes or kinds of dishes have you been meaning to try? I recently bought some frozen shelled mussels. I've never cooked mussels before but look forward to trying a recipe with them soon.

What's the last or a recent thing you bought for your kitchen? A couple of weeks ago I bought a mini whisk. I've already used it twice. It's a handy addition to my kitchen collection.

Today's Tidbit:
Saw this on TV recently, get down to brass tacks supposedly comes from buying fabric when brass tacks were nailed into at store's countertop a measured distance apart. If you were a serious customer, the seller unrolled the fabric and measured it out to cut. If you were just looking, dreaming, window shopping, then you weren't ready to get down to brass tacks. Interesting!

Have an above average Thursday. It's been a productive day. Thanks for the questions, bjh!

Today's Question(s):

I have all kinds of stuff in my garage. You name it - I have it Inherited with the house.

What would you likely do with an old coffee can of rusty nails?

Toss it. They are useless.

Did you ever prepare trash for pick up only to realize it was a holiday?

It happened. I have no neighbors to get a second opinion

Have you looked in the mailbox on a holiday or a Sunday?

No mailbox, just POBox. And they are closed on holidays.

Any other ways holidays screwed up your schedule ?

Yup. Some painful memories... Like showing up to work...lol

Foodie Question(s):

What recipes or kinds of dishes have you been meaning to try?

I get lots of inspirations on our Food Forum.

What's the last or a recent thing you bought for your kitchen?

Extra wide silicone spatula for crepes.

What would you likely do with an old coffee can of rusty nails? Junk them.

Did you ever prepare trash for pick up only to realize it was a holiday? Have a few times.

Have you looked in the mailbox on a holiday or a Sunday? Yes because we get HOA notices in them occasionally.
