Mind you, I live in Fl so 'winter' is warm here.

Here's my tip: don't use ginger in pumpkin pie, use allspice.

Since I like to take bird photos, I base my list order mostly on that.

1. Spring
Songbird migration season.
The ducks and geese are walking around with their babies in May,
Between mid-April and mid-May, the leaves on the trees are a nice chartreuse green and in good shape (no holes)
The kids are still in school where I go on vacation so the wildlife refuge isn't crowded because parents wait to go on family vacations until after Memorial Day.
It's cold to cool in the early morning around sunrise and hopefully no mosquitos and annoying flies until later in the day.
The dogwoods and redbuds are in bloom.

2. Fall
Hawk time.
Crow time.
Fall foliage time (last week of October/first week of November) - end of September - another chartreuse leaves month.
Burning leaves time.
Good full moons (clear skies) and skies.
Spider webs.

3. Winter
Migrating seagulls arrive in my town between last week of November and second week of December and leave first week of March.
Cold weather is invigorating
Fir trees and scents.
Christmas
Smell of burning leaves.
Egg nog.
Birds come to you if you feed them because insects are scarce.

4. Summer
Butterfly photography.
Ugly green leaves.
Hibernate - too hot/humid, too buggy.
No energy. UGH!

I'm pretty simple - garlic salt, onion salt, oregano, basil, pepper ( Italian food)

Anything pine or soaps. Actually like the smell of cigars but 24/7... Probably not.

Today's Question(s):
Rank the seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall/Autumn, in the order you like them most to least:
(and please tell us what you like/dislike about each season)

1. Autumn. That's when the summer fog goes away and we get the warmest, sunniest weather

2. Spring, because that's when the clocks go forward and days get longer.

3. Summer. It's foggy, breezy and cool.

4. Winter. Dark, cold and depressing. I don't enjoy the holidays because it means extra work for me.

Foodie Question(s):
Tell us some seasonings you like and with what dishes:
(ex: cinnamon with apple pie; basil with tomato soup, etc.)

-Sweet dishes/foods?
Cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, nutmeg, coriander, cloves, ginger.

-Savory dishes/foods?
Salt, pepper, mustard, lemon, basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, parsley, chili powder, garlic, onions.

What Say You:

Let's have fun with the seasons in . . .

Today's Question(s):
Rank the seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall/Autumn, in the order you like them most to least:
(and please tell us what you like/dislike about each season)

1. Fall. I love the changing leaves and the brightness of the sun. And cooler weather.

2. Spring. It's beautiful when everything starts blooming. We have such weird weather lately that nothing blooms at the right time anymore. Allergy sufferers do not want to move here. The pollen is brutal.

3. Winter. Eh. Too unpredictable. But I can tolerate the temps normally. I don't do below 10 degrees, I will not leave the house. We rarely go below 30 so that's tolerable.

4. ugh Summer. I was looking up the exact dates of the "dog days of Summer" online today. It's from July 3 to August 11, standard for everywhere. So we're a few days past it but whew, it's still hot. Looked up why it was called dog days also, interesting. I'm curious about the origins of common colloquialisms that we all say. It's surprising how far back some of it goes. Nerd alert, again.

Foodie Question(s):
Tell us some seasonings you like and with what dishes:

I'm not big on seasonings or spices. And I'm not a cook so I do not have the answers you are seeking.

-Sweet dishes/foods?

-Savory dishes/foods? Where?

1. Autumn. I like cooler weather.

2. Spring. Temps are nice and flowers are pretty.

3. Summer. It's too hot.

4. Winter. I hate running the heater and when it ices over you can't go anywhere. At least you can drive in summer.

Foodie Question(s):

Cinnamon with pastries. nutmeg with pie, ginger tea.

Today's Question(s):
Rank the seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall/Autumn, in the order you like them most to least:
(and please tell us what you like/dislike about each season)

1. Spring - a New Beginning....everything is fresh and I enjoy planting my flowers. My job is easy in the Spring.

2. Fall - I'm within close proximity of a high school, and I enjoy hearing the marching band practice, and cheering sounds from the football games. The beach goers from other states are gone, and we have our beaches back. My job is still easy in the Fall.

THEN IT GOES DOWN HILL!

3. Winter - My winter coats have large pockets .... great for work because I carry a professional camera, disto measuring device, pencils (ink pens freeze), kleenex, and hot shot spray for wild animals. Still, working in cold to freezing weather is difficult..... try measuring the exterior of a large home in snow and wind.

4. Summer - Hot and sticky weather, more expense to pay for air conditioning and my landscaper. Dragging a tape measure around the exterior of a McMansion, in 85-100 degree weather, is not much fun. Besides, when that part of my job is done I'm sweating bullets! Jobs I receive for the beach areas are a real pain, with all the vacation traffic. Vacationers are cranky because they can't wait to get there, and I'm always in their way.

Foodie Question(s):
Tell us some seasonings you like and with what dishes:
(ex: cinnamon with apple pie; basil with tomato soup, etc.)

-Sweet dishes/foods? Cinnamon and brown sugar on sweet potatoes

-Savory dishes/foods? I don't like spicy dishes

What Say You:

"If I had to live downwind from a factory, I would like it to be one that makes
Jello
Our jello factory left town, unfortunately, which is about 3 miles from me. When they made strawberry and cherry jello, the whole area smelled delicious. After that, a chocolate factory moved in, which was great, also. They also left town. Now the factory makes some sort of frozen dinners....can't smell those.

Thanks, BJh
