Today’s Questions:
Were you born on a holiday, or do you know anyone who was? - Two former acquaintances, one on Veterans Day and the other New Years Eve. Doubt the latter counts but I think that is pretty cool.

Both had to be dumped for different reasons. The Veterans Day one was due to racism and the other because he's an *******.

This is the 120th anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ first flight and the 88th anniversary of the first DC-8 flight. Do you enjoy flying? When did you last travel by air? - Last time I was on a plane was this past May. I went to south Florida to see my brother and meet his girlfriend of 12 years for the first time. It was the highlight of my year even though it rained a good portion of the time I was there.

Can't say I really enjoy flying but I guess it's okay. The last time before that trip was in 2012.

Can you name some occupations that are obsolete, or nearly so? I’m thinking of jobs such as cobbler, keypunch operator or gas station attendant. - Toll collector.

What past fashion trends (such as bell bottoms, afros or prairie dresses) do you wish would come back? - Does lack of tattoos count? I consider the fashion of today to be the worst of my entire life, mostly because of that.

Do you follow any sports teams? Which are your favorites? - I have two I follow pretty close - the UMBC Retrievers and the Loyola Greyhounds, local women's college basketball teams. I attend most of both schools games. Can't beat the $7.00 for one and $11.00 for the other ticket prices and I get a seat wherever I want which of course is close to the action. The entertainment is top notch and that includes the dance teams and cheerleading.

To a lesser extent the Maryland Terrapins and the Binghamton Bulldogs, also women's college basketball teams. I really like the starting guards at Binghamton, Ella Wanzer and Jadyn Weltz. I watch most of their games on my ESPN internet subscription. The whole American East division which includes UMBC and Binghamton I follow fairly close.

Thanks a bunch for your time, Bay!

Today’s Questions:

Were you born on a holiday, or do you know anyone who was? I wasn’t, and I don’t now anyone who was.

This is the 120th anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ first flight and the 88th anniversary of the first DC-8 flight. Do you enjoy flying? When did you last travel by air? I don’t enjoy flying, because of the possible hassles at the airport and the uncomfortable seats and no legroom. I flew last week.

Can you name some occupations that are obsolete, or nearly so? I’m thinking of jobs such as cobbler, keypunch operator or gas station attendant. Buggy whip maker.

What past fashion trends (such as bell bottoms, afros or prairie dresses) do you wish would come back? Wide leg pants are back, and I have a few pair. I always liked pleated skirts with knee socks too.

Do you follow any sports teams? Which are your favorites? Not much. Ohio State football somewhat, and the Savannah Bananas baseball.

Good morning.

Were you born on a holiday, or do you know anyone who was?
No and yes.
This is the 120th anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ first flight and the 88th anniversary of the first DC-8 flight. Do you enjoy flying? When did you last travel by air?
No. The seats are tiny, I'm tall. Plus the commotion, too many people, too much noise. Very restless.
Can you name some occupations that are obsolete, or nearly so? I’m thinking of jobs such as cobbler, keypunch operator or gas station attendant.
Projectionist, lamp lighter, travel agent, Math teacher ha ha.
What past fashion trends (such as bell bottoms, afros or prairie dresses) do you wish would come back?
Kitten heel pumps. Like these. I want all women to wear them all the time. But not with pajama pants...

Do you follow any sports teams? Which are your favorites?
No.

I like going places, sitting in a capsule for a long time --doable only because the reward will be the destination, it beats driving long distances.
When did you last travel by air? December 8, 2023

Can you name some occupations that are obsolete, or nearly so? I’m thinking of jobs such as cobbler, keypunch operator or gas station attendant.

Do you follow any sports teams? Which are your favorites? No interest, my husband--he will be a crazy lunatic being the sofa coach for the Ravens.

Good morning, Bayarea, and thank you!

Were you born on a holiday, or do you know anyone who was? My youngest brother was born on Halloween! For years and years he thought everyone was dressing up because of him.

This is the 120th anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ first flight and the 88th anniversary of the first DC-8 flight. Do you enjoy flying? Not really, though it usually does mean I am going someplace interesting to me. When did you last travel by air? In October, when I went to DC.

Can you name some occupations that are obsolete, or nearly so? I’m thinking of jobs such as cobbler, keypunch operator or gas station attendant. I'm thinking a farrier and a telephone operator.

What past fashion trends (such as bell bottoms, afros or prairie dresses) do you wish would come back? I would love to see bell bottoms come back, and also shoulder pads (within reason on both).

Do you follow any sports teams? I hate to admit it but yes. Which are your favorites? New Orleans Saints (or this year, the Aints) and the Georgia Bulldogs.
