Whats a travelers check?? Actually, just a little pun here. And yes, Ive actually seen that in places like grocery stores, or a retail store, where someone comes in to buy a few necessities, obviously indicating theyre traveling....and no one has ever heard of those type of checks. Arrrrgh!
Wait till you see the look if you give them a $2 bill !!
There is no slot in the drawer for it so the "confused look" you get is priceless
Once I said " no it is real I promise"
Or try arguing for your change from that silver dollar at a toll booth..I really didn't want change, just wanted my lucky silver dollar back, because it was an 1895 Morgan Dollar that my fil gave me years ago..I didn't get it back, but my H inherited the huge coin collection several years ago..He sold some, and plans on sorting it all out one of these days into 4 separate collections for our kids..

Funny thing about $2 bills. In Maine, they are widely accepted and nobody even raises an eyebrow. In WV, salespeople want to drop everything to pocket the treasure before anyone else sees it. Floridians are among the most clueless - as Karla just pointed out. No offense to Karla, but that seems to be the case.
Here's a tip: Go to any bank and ask for two-dollar bills and 90% of the time, you'll get them.
Hey Alice when I was at my credit union the other day they had a sign that said "crisp $2 bills available for Holiday Gifts"
It reminded me of a $2 bill story from my past.
When we were little my Mom was raising 4 of us on her own, things were very tight money wise.
I remember her coming home from work one Friday (payday) and said "I know things have been tough and I really appreciate how you kids have never complained" The $2 bills had just been revived and she handed us each one.
The sign reminded me of this so you know had to get 2 of them one for me and one for hubby.
At one point in history travelers cheques were the preferred use of payment when traveling. Then the credit cards got popular and now few people know about the checks. I don’t know if I’d want to accept them with forgeries being able to made so easily now a days. How do they validate that they are “good”?
