I trusted a contractor who has done nothing but what is in his best interest and guess what he's consistent.

That’s aggravating to have a contractor that way. The last time I had a contractor at the house working, I paid him 1/3 upfront to start the job, 1/3 when the materials were on the jobsite, and 1/3 when the job was completed.

There was an issue at the end of the project about “cleanup”. He said he wasn’t going to cleanup a mess that was left by the other workmen that came to deal with one phase of the project. I simply said that’s ok, but he wasn’t getting the last of the money until someone cleaned up the mess. He spent about an hour with his helper and they got the job completed and they got paid in full. Always hold money out until the very end of the job.

Did you pay him upfront, thats never a good idea. Also its never good to pay them by the hour, they waste time and prolong the job that way. Do you have a contract? What was he supposed to do?

A brand new diner opened up in our small town. I had my stomach all set for "real" mexican food today. Went there all happy and saw a sign that said "NO DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED UNTIL TOMORROW-SORRY!" And all I had was $2 on me.

Taco Mayo, here I come.

Well I'm all for clean energy sources, they keep adverting electric cars, like they are some panacea of clean energy.

Duh, it still takes carbon burning energy to charge the batteries, you still have all the chemicals and processing to deal with the creation and recycling of batteries.

I'm not an engineer, but it seems like people need to rethink some of the so called "green" things they see advertised.

*sigh* Today I had to wait nearly 40 minutes for my bus to take me to my job!

At least the evening driver is efficient and for that, I am grateful!

Mrs Aks & I had to get up extra early to start the day and get a few errands started. I'm still asleep but walking around with a cup of coffee so far. What a way to start the day
