PORT HURON, Mich., May 30 (UPI) -- The superintendent of a cemetery in Port Huron, Mich., says a squirrel is responsible for the theft of nearly a dozen small U.S. flags.
Mount Hope Cemetery superintendent Ron Ceglarek said he witnessed the squirrel take one of the small flags from a grave site and transport it up a nearby tree to help build a nest with its mate, the Port Huron (Mich.) Times Herald reported Saturday.
If they're made of cotton squirrels use them for nesting. If they're polyester they'll leave them alone. At least that's what they said on TV a few years ago when someone kept having a yellow ribbon disappear off of their "old oak tree...."
I should leaf this topic alone but I would like to take this opportunity to mention that John has a larch heart and he's rarely a pine in the butt. Oakay? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Hmmm...Or is he a bit warped and does he belong to a naughty splinter group?
