Today's gloom reminds me of all last year. I've loved the sunshine, blue skies and puffy white clouds, but we need rain. Supposedly there was a front coming last weekend, never materialized. Maybe this weekend?

On the cloudy side in the mid 70's with a forecast for the first rain in many days. Forecast is for .42" of rain which would be very welcome.

We had a fire in the backyard, destroyed a nasty old shed full of decades of junk from my housemate's father.

Lightning struck it at 3am. It sounded like a bomb going off outside my window, which is on the other side of the house, a distance away from the shed.

But for a guy passing by at 3 am who pounded on our door, it could have been a lot worse.

We didn't get all that much rain yesterday, but enough so that the fire did not spread before the engines got there.

Wow! Glad that worked out okay, pathrunner!

I just stopped by to say it's a lovely day here in North Central Texas. It's staying in the low 80s. That feels cool after yesterday's unusually warm high of 94.

One last summers like day (upper to 90 and sunny) before the cold front and hopefully some rain moves in.
