Yep, there are all kinds of variations in payment of servers. But it still boils down to the fact the employers should pay their employees fully. Price of their food will reflect that. I know if you work where you get substantial tips you might be all for tips. But, most would prefer a sure thing even if less at times. Salary wise I mean. As long as tips aren't mandatory it's ok I suppose. You should be able to tip anyone in any line of work if you wish. Except law enforcement /judges etc.

“You get what you pay for in life!” Cheap isn’t always good, and when it comes to service we all want something better then we get sometimes. How about a different plan, On a new thought! ,,,,, Put the tip up-front. If the service is good leave it. If the service isn’t remove it. At least the server knows what you’re willing to pay for good service or poor service; they in turn would be giving you what you paid for.

I can’t believe how many servers get stiffed on their tips that they work so hard for.
So this is how the spoiler works!

Be a good customer and tip accordingly!

I'd like to see.....

More employers that have respect for their employees. It seems like most employers these days couldn't care less. They expect workers to devote mind, body and soul to their organization but certainly don't give even a small amount of that devotion back to their employees. As an example, how many people do we hear about that have been an outstanding employee at some place for years and the company just lays them off to increase their profits without the slightest hesitation. It's no wonder so many people hate their jobs.

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now....LOL
