GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) - A chicken playing chicken? That's what's happening on a busy Glendale street where a black hen has been dodging cars, captors and coyotes for two months. Officials say the bird has been darting into traffic outside Glendale Community College since it was first reported Nov. 20.
Sounds like this half baked bird brain must be winging it. It must surely be an egghead and a hard boiled one at that. It's going to run out of cluck soon if it's not more careful in this pecking order, and become a shell of its former self.
It's not too smart to run afowl of traffic where you might get scrambled. Maybe this little clucker got tired of being cooped up and decided to go out for a squawk? Well, this fearless fryer may soon get tucked.
My daughter and I actually drove past that thing. While stopped at a light, we watched it prance around right in front of the Glendale Community College Sign. Apparently it had a nest with a hen behind the sign. Amazing what makes the news these days.
I grew up in a rural area....we don't brake for road kill.
If it's fresh enough and clean enough.....free dinner.
