Born in the country, visited many big cities, ran back to the woods where it is safe. I wouldn't live in the city for love nor money. I enjoy my space and my privacy too much!
Moved from Brooklyn NY To Rahway NJ
Not really country but for a city boy it is country enough
It took me about 3 months to finally get a good nights sleep
It was too quite here (i was used to sirens, load music from passing cars, gun shots, trucks backfiring etc etc)
Born in country....went to Univ in city and worked....returned to small town....moved further from the city and even the small town to the sticks....where peeps are known to use sleeve to wipe their nose....and use outhouses and wipe with..........................................toil et paper (bet you thought I was gonna say corn cob) Which may still happen.
Everyone drives a pickemmeuptruck, 4 wheel drive so we can mud bog.
ive got a house..out in the country on a lake,,wouldnt trade it for anything, during the spring and summer, i can fish and swim on a moments notice, in clear water! on the other side of my house there is a field where i see much wildlife, i can hear the loons now,,,love thier calls,, its peaceful, !!
the people around here are friendly,,, even in the wintertime, its very pretty riding thru the woods on a snowmobile...
i saw two eagles today, a moose, three deer, and over 20 turkeys, and an osprey!
I live in the country. Grew up in a mid sized city and every time I go back to visit the rels I'm reminded of why I left. It's just too darned crazy with traffic for one thing. Around here it's not uncommon to pull up behind two cars facing in opposite directions on the road with the drivers gabbing to each other. That's a traffic jam that I'll always be able to live with.
MBM, tonight I was driving home and saw something dark that was moving in the road ahead. It was a moose just kalooping along. I slowed and drove along side of her for maybe a hundred yards with my headlights showing her the way and just admired nature for awhile. Very glad to report there was no collision, but yeah, give me wide open spaces any day. I'll always enjoy visiting cities - just don't want to live in one.

moose are large clumsy animals,,,i enjoy watching them,,,yet they can be very dangerous in the road,,,they are very dark, and tall,,,at least with a deer, you have a sporting chance if you hit them with a car,,,,if you hit a moose head on,,usually you clip there legs and the body goes flying thru the windshield, ive had a couple very close calls!! ,,
