I am trying to get a project off the ground and I was going to hire a sales letter writer to write a series of sales letters for me. Since the last time I hired him, his prices have skyrocketed and mind you he's one of the cheapest out there. A good copy writer is not cheap.

I can no longer afford his rates but I need to have a good sales letter written.

Would you learn how to do do it yourself or would you just save up the money until you could afford to pay to have the service done for you?

The sales letters are very important for this project.

Ron

Having been the queen of sales and proposal writing in my office and people bombarding me with their requests, it's hard for me to distingish as to hard it is to do. But generally speaking it's no different that when I wanted to change the outlets in the wall or replace an enitire sink with plumbing or the trellis arch over the gate oustside.

So, yeah, I learned to do it myself.

I always tend to research everything and see if it's possible for me to do myself. It may help if you have a previous letter to possibly use as an outline maybe? The one thing I wouldn't do even if I knew how, is roof the house.

I actually have a decent grasp on how to do it. I actually think I could pull it off. Not as well as an expert but i could probably get the job done. I study sales letters and ads and I could easily find "guidelines" to follow.

I think I'll give it a shot!

I don't want to make up excuses for not getting my first few clients because of I don't have the letters.

Thanks

You can do it Ron. We have been doing it for the last two years for a organization we belong to and I did it for several years as part of my job. Knew nothing about it when I started, and learned as I went.

You can do it, jump in and get your feet wet. Have some folks read your stuff and get opinions and update as required.

It depends.

Several years ago we decided to paint the outside of our house ourselves because we'd heard too many horror stories about the inadequate job that professional painters do. And we did a good job. However, I already had neck and shoulder issues, and I swear, that project only made it worse. I was in agony for a looooong time, and swore I would never do it again.

I'm always willing to try and learn something new. And, if I can save a couple of bucks doing so and have that feeling of self-accomplishment, then all the better!

Eons ago I hired a professional writer to do my first resume. After that I took the example and ran with it and did future resumes myself.

These days it's all on the Internet to look up whatever you're into or want to find out.

Literally thousands of examples.

You sound like you want to do it, so do it.

You know your audience best
