My grandmother had a next-door neighbor for years who was 5 yrs older than her. It was always "wait til you're 50, wait 'til you're 60, etc..." but my grandmother always laughed when she would hit that "magic" age and her back was still ok or whatever...

I will tell you the difference between 20 and 30 was nothing compared to the difference between 30 and 40. Wow. My 30s, esp the five yrs between 35 and 40, really came full swing at me.
What happened between 35 and 40? I'm 35 and frankly you're scaring me

It's sad, but true. My husband is 10 years older than me. He always told me everything would change after 40----the aches, pains, etc. I didn't believe him. He was right. I'd say excersise and a healthy diet is super important NOW. Don't wait until you start feeling like crap. Get a head start and make lifestyle changes right now. Learn from our mistakes! LOL

Really? You change that much at 40? Thanks for the tip Hopes. Oh and I'm getting tested for vitamin b12. I read all your posts on it. I have many of the symptoms you are experiencing.

We moved away from my wonderful gym that had a nursery in it and I had another baby. Toddlers are tiring at 30 (or so parents think) but try at 40. Definitely keep exercising and active. It was a 25 mile drive to the nearest gym that had childcare after we moved so I never joined, even though I thought about it several times. I'm one of those people who gets more exercise regularly if I belong to a gym.

So just don't give in to the aging process - its kind of like being tired and sitting down - a lot harder to get back up than if you had just stayed standing in the first place.

editing to add - also little things that may have been coming and going for years seem to flare up more - I have had joint problems for over 20 yrs now but they would come and go. The other day I side-stepped in the kitchen, tripped over my dog, who had sidled over to sit next to me, pivoted in a weird way, and my hip joint, which had been a little achy, started hurting again.

I'd definitely recommend a balance of cardio and strength training!

What did you get yesterday? We never got any rain up here - just cloudy and WINDY! Which of course continues today. The one and only thing I hate about living here. Darn wind.

OMG, our weather is awful. My son was off at overnight camp (school trip) and they are coming home from camp early today because the camp lost power due to the mega-winds! Not a fun way to cut camp short!

And there's a ton of rain! It has cleared up by now, but my kids were drenched just walking across the street to the bus stop!

wind is my least favorite thing about the weather here. We got wind and a downpour in the morning, then it passed. I should say the rain passed. The wind is still here!
