Hi, kids will come by our house in an hour for trick or treat, I kind of not very sure what to say when the kids says trick or treat.

Do I just answer "treat" then give them candies?

Please help me, kids are coming...

I just say Happy Halloween and compliment them on their costumes. Little kids especially love to hear how awesome they look.

Just smile, say whatever you want (Happy Halloween, Hello, etc.) and toss some candy into their bags. There's no need to say "treat."

*Open door*
*Kids say "Trick or Treat!"*
"Here you go!"
*Drop x-number of candy into their bags*
"Happy Halloween!"
*Close door*

Repeat as many times as necessary.

I agree to say Happy Halloween, hand them their treats and compliment their costume. Oooh and Ahhhh over the little ones. Parents love that.

"Sorry! No candy here! Didn't you notice the light was out?"

Then expect them not to come back next year.

I just drop some candy in their bags and tell them to have fun as they leave. If they are kids I know I great them by name.

Put on your most horrible mask and practice your scariest RROOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR in a deep and horrible voice. When they knock and say trick or treat, scare the bejesus out of them, then tell them how great they look and drop candy in their bags.......then say HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Now you've given them both.....a trick AND a treat!!
