Mrs.X - our weather has been overly hot and dry. Today doesn't feel horrible yet. I'm just tired of it and my yard is tired of it too.

Your no sex situation is horrible - but.... the way you wrote had me snickering. Poor Mr.X....
Just being jokeful Coop. Mr. X knows how I feel and how I feel about him. Overall, I feel bad for him and for me. It reminds me of the Friends episode when Rachel is 9 months pregnant and begging Ross for it. This week though we have our regular visit to the Doctor and I am going to see what we can both do about this. I just hope he gives us some form of ok.

Back to gardening, my yard is really bad. We have one side of the house that looks like the sun set fire to it. Really scorched and dead. It is like walking on a bed of needles even with sandals on. Three of my four rose bushes died and the one that survived seems to tolerate the heat. My plumbago and lantana are fairing well. My leyland cypress trees which I planted in the early spring has not grown an inch.

My neighbors though moved in about a month ago and planted these massive oaks in their back garden about 5-6 of them and they look like they are dying already. I feel bad for them because they spent at least 300-400 per tree. They do not have a big backyard at all and I know the water restrictions must be affecting them because soon we wont be able to use a soaker hose.

Prisoners have a name for it as well: liver.

So if I ask for a hot liver pocket, I can assume I will not find it in my local freezer aisle.

Well I'm glad MrFR didn't have that name for that particular substitute, I'd have to wonder if he was keeping some dark past from me.

I must lead one too!

Mrs.X - there is a saying regarding planting and it always seems to be true.

First year sleep
Second year creep
Third year leap

So I think you are fine.

That is too bad about your neighbors. I don't think buying bigger is better as the shock is more severe. We just bought tiny trees early on and were patient. Now have big, beautiful trees.
