I like the sideboard-buffet entry table too. Oh, and the red door is great! I've never thought to paint the interior of an entry door like that! Looks great with the floor, very warm and inviting.

Thanks guys!

Dew - can you see them now? I think I had the setting wrong on my album.

mm - the side board - bet you can guess where it came from....

Julia - the row above the panels is slate pieces - which matches the fireplace slate, so it all tied together. We used to have a tall wardrobe there and I just couldn't bring it back in the house after seeing how big the room felt without it.

The floors are handscraped - which is nice because they have a more rustic feel.

Is that slate inset (the sideboard, not the fireplace)? Did it come that way?

Yes! Thank you. (I can spend hours going through home decor magazines so I was feeling left out.)

Absolutely beautiful! Love the floors, REALLY love the fireplace. I'm totally jealous.

Yes, it's inset and came that way. There are also 4 squares of it on top.

I feel like I finally have the house the way I want it - it's only been 12 years, but I finally got there!

You're giving me hope! I've been here 18 years. I think this is going to be THE year for me!

Any type of new flooring makes a huge difference. A clean house can look dirty when the flooring is crap. I know, I'm living the nightmare.

But hubby is off for a month! And all kinds of great things are happening around here already!

I plan to have the subfloor installed on the first floor before the week is over. Today, I'm clearing extra stuff out of the rooms to prepare for the big day!

I like the door too! What color is it when you see it from outside?

(Tried to read your book titles, lol. Habit I picked up from DH who is always on the lookout for something interesting.)

Dew, I spy the Harry Potter books. Speaking of books, am I the only person who is impressed with the orderliness of her bookshelves?
