Ahem (*using my very best old lady voice*), back in MY day there were none of these new fangled "play lists." We made mix tapes for our friends, with songs recorded off the radio. Ah, the good old days.

I was born in 1985 but i still remember a lot of this stuff from my older sibs .
lol, got a good kick out of that. My wife still has some of her mixtapes and the kids would ask what the heck they are. We put one in the stereo (my old one from college, so it actually HAS a cassette deck) and let them rock out for a ltitle bit.
The video games take me back too. I got my son the Mario classics for Wii which is all of the original games. He liked playing it, but commented on how "funny" it looked. Yeah, well compared to Mario zooming through the galaxy in blistering high def backed up with a 5.1 soundtrack, the old one looks a little dated...I still think it's more fun though.
The mixtapes do remind me of that old Margaret Cho bit though where all of hers have her mom in the background screaming MORON!!!

It's funny and somewhat amazing how technology has improved in such a short span of time. My little brother is your age and his childhood tech was much different than mine only a decade earlier. DH and I were just talking about things our kids will have no idea about, like the word processors we used to write term papers. My 3 yo can already independently operate the laptop and the iPad!
I think I said this on a similar thread once, but we were visiting my parents and I still have my old albums case in their basement with some of my old records in it...
My oldest ( who was 7 at the time), pulled out one of the records & said " wow, that is a huge DVD!" it made me laugh !
