Don't be terrified. So many have done it and lived !!!
There really IS no way to explain it. Even though you go thru the most excrucitating pain you will ever feel in your life.... its funny, that once you hold your new baby, the memory of the pain leaves you... for atleast a while.
Just pray for a quick labor/delivery.
Do alot of walking from day one. Its suppose to help strengthen the muscles needed for childbirth.

Only if you don't opt for the epidural.

I OPTED, but did not have the opprotunity. My labor and delivery was progressing too rapidly even for a shot of demerol. Nodda, nothing, no way

You're not really doing a good job selling it to me!

I'll say this right now, I have no desire to experience natural childbirth. I'd rather schedule a c-section than have to endure that, but I don't want a c-section either. I want DRUGS.

Genuinely, there is no other experience in the world like having a baby.

I didn't have a c-sec., but I know a few that did and had a harder time at recovery.
I believe you can choose to have a scheduled C these days.

If I wanted to scare you away from having a child.... I would get into the teenage years ! LOL Much harder than childbirth !
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger .
You learn and grow from the pain (not just childbirth) you incur in your lifetime !

If I could be under general anesthesia for it, I would. I don't like pain. My periods are hard enough...I sometimes have to stay at home and take codeine between vomiting spells.

If your insurance will pay for it, I guess.

Yeah...I remember being a teenager, I'm sure my hypothetical offspring will repay me in kind for what I did to my parents. I wasn't that bad, though; I got good grades, didn't sneak out, didn't wear slutty clothes, didn't date nasty boys. I was just mopey. My brother, on the other hand, was terrible. I hope his son is JUST LIKE HIM, lord knows he deserves it!
