I love that name. I got it from an old TV show I watched when I was a kid, "Our Miss Brooks." Miss Brooks' landlady, Mrs. Davis, had a cat named Minerva. We never saw Minerva but whenever Mrs. Davis called her we heard a very cranky meow. For some reason I thought that was hilarious and I vowed if ever I got a kitty I would name it Minerva. And I did.

I needed an extra letter to make it work as a user name so the "h" is the first letter of my last name.

Yikes! Think of all the kids born in Poughkeepsie.

No offense to those born in Poughkeepsie of course.

Fletcher. I heard of a boy named Fletcher. It sounds like belch kinda.

Grayson. Wtf? Yes, I've met a Grayson. And a Bodie -- pronounce "bow-dee"

Ughhh and I thought Hudson was a terrible name (yes, I've heard that one too)

How literal do you wanna get with that? You could end up with kids named "Starbucks bathroom"

My uncle is a priest, and campaigned mightily to name me Annunciata, since my mother's due date was the Feast of the Assumption, and that was the closest name he could come up with. Fortunately, I arrived ahead of schedule.

I like the name Graham, but I suspect you are right.

Surnames used as first names:

Harper, Hunter, Grayson, Fletcher, Cooper, Piper, etc.

Substituting a "Y" for another vowel sound in any name:

Trystyn, Kristyn, Madisyn, Jordyn, Addyson/Addysyn, etc.

Dorky religious names:

Malachai, Mordechai, Jedidiah, Mohammed, Esther, Obadiah, etc.

Place names:

Dallas, Austin, Kansas, Brooklyn, London, Paris, etc.

ANY name that is another word intentionally spelled backwards (not talking about palindromes):

Neveah. Enough said.

One of my best friends named her 3rd, Graham! First two are Ryan and Jamesie! She is British, her American husband didn't like Graham, cause of Graham cracker, but so far no one has called him Cracker! Maybe it's the partial British accent.
