The world would be boring if we all were called nothing but Ann and David and thankfully most people have progressed beyond that. I grew up with a name not common for my area and it was hard during the 60s and 70s....which is why I love seeing such a variety of names and most people having no problems.

PS: The woman with the name Tyson? If she's from the South chances are it's a family name...it's common in many southern families. ...and has been for hundreds of years....to give the oldest daughter her mother's maiden name as a first name....but heaven forbid that it offends you.
READ THE ORIGINAL OP'S POST AGAIN: "So what are some of the names that you have coem across or heard that you love or hate?"

Does that not sound like the op was ASKING for poster's opinions? Seems I answered according to what he wanted. It's an opinion. So, then, is my opinion less important than yours???

Stupid baby names:
Brione
Kobley
Nevaeh
Jaquan
Shartiqua
MacKenzie
Hunter
Den-group: Hayden, Caden, Brayden, Jayden, Aiden
Boys names for girls: Madison, Allison, Addison, etc.

Can you imagine in 80 years from now when some of the current babies are in nursing homes, elderly people will have names like Jaquan or Nevaeh?

When I have children, I'll be sticking with "boring", traditional names and names that age well.

My list of favorite names:

Boys:
Benjamin
Arthur
Charles
Edward
Matthew
David
Robert
George
Louis
John
Jack
James
Leonard
Emilio (Hispanic name)

Girls:
Abigail
Amelia
Caroline
Margaret
Evelyn
Eleanor
Louisa
Lucy
Anna or Annie
Charlotte
Elizabeth
Ella
Adelina is a new name I heard from a friend of mine. I think it's a pretty name.

I worked at a doctor's office and the most bizarre name I saw was Shadynasty. Shady-nasty, no Sha-dynasty. Oh please.

When you start making judgement on the people that have those names. It's one thing to prefer certain names for your family (we all do that) and I dislike quite a few names...but I am not about make assumptions about that person (ie crazy, masculine (for a female), feminine (for a male) or say you can't get used to them) based on what their parents called them.

Sure you didn't get that one from an urban legend and Always Sunny In Philidelphia?

Acquanetta Warren, mayor of Fontana, Calif. (You could look it up). And strange as it may seem, there are several other Acquanettas in the U.S.

Hairspray, anyone?

My kids name are Ringo, Rocco and Rafaella. How do you guys perceived these names in America? We will be moving to the US soon (from Southeast Asia) and I'm a bit concerned of their names in the US. These names were actually cool fro the place we come from and never realized we will be heading to US (company transfer).

Is it true that Ringo and Rocco are mostly used as pet names in US?
