The article didn't really say, but are they're having all those kids trying for a girl? I think its time to either give up on that dream, find a little girl in need of a home and adopt, or go the IVF route.
I noticed a comment from the FATHER says he "is not opposed to having another child", maybe 13 would be their charm to get a girl...
Stop. Since Fathers do not carry a child, give birth to one...maybe the Mother should be consulted...
There is something messed up about having kids, wanting one sex or another....I had kids, just wanting a beautiful baby. I was thrilled with all of mine, no matter what sex...
That comment makes me think he's not opposed but it's the mother who really wants more. A friend of mine is on her 7th baby -- completely her doing because her husband would not object to stopping or having more.
You can't always assume the woman was weak and has no say in the matter.
They came out and said that they stopped trying for a girl a long time ago, they just enjoy having children.
Glad to hear this is the case. One of my siblings sister-in-law and brother-in-law has 10 boys. It wasn't because they wanted to have more babies. It was because she wanted a girl. I don't know why she finally gave up. Her H is from a family of 6 boys. My niece is one of only two girls among her cousins on that side of the family.
My very first thought was how in the world could they possibly afford 12 children?
Even something as simple as keeping everyone in shoes that fit and buying school supplies. And, I shudder to think about college (or other post high school education) expenses.
Yikes!
OTOH At least they aren't paying for a dozen weddings.
