If the relationship between a parent and child is good, what the parent wants for the child should be relevant to the child. What the child wants that is different from what the parents wants, should also be relevant. Life is not a completely solitary journey. Parents should care about what their children do, and children should listen to their parents' concerns.

I think short shorts are perfectly fine, but if another parent doesn't, that is their point of view and I'm not going to ridicule them.
