They're just encouraging people to donate for free when there are places that are paying $$ for certain male donors which they can then sell to couples with infertility issues or someone that just want a certain type of male genes.
Also don't date people that are in the age range that you provided sperm for. You never know who could be your child. some couples never tell their child that they came from an egg or sperm donor.

There was a case somewhere in the USA where 2 lesbians used a known donor. They broke up and sued the donor for support. Don't remember the outcome, but I wouldn't suggest you put yourself into any kind of risk for that, when you figure how nutty society is getting about this. Many men pay child support for children that are not theirs. Don't do it. Keep your wallet.

The donor was sued by the government because they wanted to recapture welfare payments made on behalf of the state. Donor was not anonymous. I think he was a friend or at least they contracted him through NON PROFESSIONAL means..something like online ad and as I recall he was held liable for child support. I sent the article to my sperm donor son.
This sperm donor / surrogate pregnancy situation got a bit messy. I believe it was done thru legal channels. The bio father took custody and is suing the surr. mother as well as his soon-to-be ex-wife
Take a very careful look at your family's medical history on both sides. I have heard horror stories of people whose babies were created by sperm donors, and when they eventually met up with other families they learned their children had heritable diseases the donor either lied about, omitted from the paperwork, or just didn't know about. We have a very strong family history of Rheumatoid Arthritis in my family, that would be reason enough to discourage the men in my family from donating.
