This is about a woman who sells fake babies to people, and the people who buy them. The buyers typically treat the baby is if it's real.

There was a lady who had a realistic baby that she cared for when I was kid. Everyone called her the Doll Lady. She lived in my grandparents town and we saw her around town constantly. The baby had a bike seat, a stroller, etc. I always felt sorry for her. She lost her husband and kids. The fake baby was her replacement.

We did this in high school - school system trying to keep unwanted teen pregnancy numbers down. It was a "health" class we took. I wonder if it worked...

I feel sorry for the "moms", too. They bought the babies to care for as if they were their own child. It's not for experiments or training, they are buying the babies as if they are true babies, with all the emotional attachment, even doing family photos with the 'baby'. It is just so sad.

Wow. This is bizarre. It is really just grown ups playing with dolls, but they act as if the baby has some personality, some interest int he outside world.
It is perfect, lets skip the whole messy part and just make babies that do not cry, mess, stink or grow. That way we can pretend that we are not aging ourselves. Soon they will make robo babies that react to you, cry, poop, eat, etc. they will just never grow up. At least there will be no problems with shaken baby syndrome.

These people my not have what it takes to raise a child. They can adopt a Maltese or Yorkie or some other small breed. They will have a companion with a personality, while providing a home for a dog.

It's not creepy, its art work and a business. What is the difference between a guy who tricks out his truck or car and parades it around town and treats it like one of his children and someone who buys a doll and enjoys carting it around and showing it off. Reborning is a business, pure and simple. We are providing a beautiful art form to our customers who find joy in the detail and purity of the art form.
