They probably have a stricture against printing photos of exposed breasts and genitalia. Why would they specify "unless it has to do with breast feeding"? The employee who refused was doing his or her job, so I don't blame them.
I will note it's a bit hypocritical though. My local Walmart didn't having any problem selling the sadomasochistic sex novel Fifty Shades of Grey. In fact, it earned its very own display rack near the entrance. I guess the theory is, pictures are more dangerous than words in Walmartworld.
It still looks a little creepy to me. I realize that she was trying to create some sort of 'mood' and a, "motherhood is wonderful" feeling, but she didn't quite pull it off.
She is wrong anyway. Most Americans are not that prudish about public breastfeeding. You simply have a very prudish and loud minority you have to contend with is all.
Yeah I know, most people are fine with public breastfeeding, all the world round really, its just the vocal minority on the internet. Dunno why some people get upset about photos that they don't even have to look at. I wish I had a picture of my mum breastfeeding me, but I do have a picture from just after I was born, lying on her chest, can see her nipple but that doesn't bother me because to me its a really beautiful picture.
I do not have a problem with any of these pictures. It is just a woman feeding her child. It is too bad that pedophiles make Walmart feel it has to protect itself in this way.
You do realize how a professional photographer works don't you? They print off what you and they consider the best shots for their package deal. They almost always give you a dvd or usb drive with the rest on there so you can print them later.
I have honestly NEVER heard of a professional photographer giving away any photos they have taken for reproduction without receiving compensation, no matter how low grade they may have been.
Electronic rights to the photos may have been included in the package, but they aren't free.
