What's your point? The question was "What Was The Best Piece Of Advice Your Mother Ever Gave You". That's the best she gave ME. You'd have to ask my brother what she told him.
"Always give your employer a little bit more than they expect from you"
That advice served me well, earning me many raises and promotions over a long and successful career, and more importantly, was a key factor in allowing me to keep my job when many capable employees around me were laid off during downsizings.
Sure do miss Mom - you only get one of those, and they aren't around nearly as long as you'd like. A very good friend of mine lost his just this week, and he's learning what a blow it is. Godspeed, Peg.
