Btw if you still need to purge, talk with a counselor. You too deserve to feel valued and worthy. Don't waste any more of your life feeling you have to forever atone for your 'imperfect' past.

Your adult son will come to you when you open that Pandora's box. Set out on a lunch date. Rebuild the parent/child dynamic. Let him hear your side in a manner that opens to a discussion.

Be the parent that owns the perceptions.

OP I find myself wondering why, after detecting one bruise, the daycare felt they needed to call CPS? That seems a bit extreme unless there was preceding history you haven't shared here.

I was wondering that too. I'm a preschool teacher and have never called CPS over a bruise. There seems to be more to the story if this bruise was enough for CPS to remove the child from the OP's custody.

When you read so many stories of a child dying due to abuse even after CPS was involved in the case but the child wasn't removed from the home, this made no sense to me, either.
