My daughter has an American Girl doll named Samantha. She absolutely loves that doll. Her grandmother gave it to her for her eighth birthday, and every holiday she gives her another accessory or two. I always swore I'd never allow AG in the house, but after seeing my daughter's face light up when she received the doll, I've softened up a bit.
I have never bought my daughter, who is 18 years old now, a doll or toy for that matter that was even $50!!!
What do you guys think of these dolls? I have never heard of these dolls. I had Barbie growing up
I never bought a doll for my daughter, she wasn't interested.
My sister still has the Barbie doll my dad bought her complete with carrying case. That was in 1964. I imagine it might be worth some money now but she wont let me sell it

Two of my daughters have an AG doll. They absolutely love them. We didn't buy them off of the AG doll site we got them a bit cheaper off of ebay instead.
I wasn't to crazy over the idea of paying what we did, even though we got them cheaper, but the girls have so much fun with them. It got me into making and selling clothes and accessories for the dolls.
My one daughter knows at least 10 girls in her grade alone and at her school alone that has an AG doll. Some of those girls have more than one. I know one girl has 5 of them and another girl has 3.

Any moron parent who would even CONSIDER purchasing this "homeless" doll should take that $95 and their child and go to a soup kitchen, donate the money, and volunteer at the soup kitchen to feed homeless individuals and families.

What a complete disgrace!
Very true. This is a disgrace. To whom is this doll marketed? Homeless people.. I am sure they would rather have the $95.00.

No, I think it's just AGs way of being "politically correct" or trying to bring "awareness" about homelessness..... More likely just another way to line their pockets from the sale of an overpriced toy.
I always wanted one of those for my daughter because she loves the books. We just couldn't afford it at the time. I did get an AG paper doll set that was available then.
I would, and have, spent that much in later years for video game sets and computers, so if I had the money when she was little, I would have spent it on one of these dolls.
I bought my daughter an AG doll (Samantha) when she was eight as a Christmas gift. She still has the doll, in wonderful condition, she's 27 now (daughter not the doll). It's a keepsake gift, my daughter will always remember that Christmas.
