Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel. I bought it twice because we wore the first copy out!
My son also liked videos and books about trains.

My son loves to read the Magic Tree House series. They are great books to read to him as well, it teaches them to enjoy books without many pictures.
He also enjoys Amelia Bedelia.

Skippyjon Jones series - Judy Schachner (K-3)
Llama Llama series - Anna Dewdney (preschool)

They're both very fun to read (for the parents!) and have very colorful illustrations.

*** The Official Berenstain Bears Website The Berenstain Bears were one of our faves. We had a little plastic treehouse & some toy bears from the branded line. We got them from a thrift store.

Richard Scarry's books are a delight, also. Richard Scarry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When my daughter was little, I loved Maurice Sendak's stories & art but she was afraid to read the book "Where the Wild Things Are". She never mentioned it until recently when the movie was going to come out.

I love

I know my dd (she is 5) loves the "I Spy" books from the library. Easy to read and each page has a picture they have to find things in... She LOVES them! They are in the beginer reading section.
