To add to my last post: You have to know the rules in order to break them correctly. IOW, yes, my husband and I watch porn. But that is NOT how either of us were introduced to the concept of sex. And since we know the concept of healthy sex, we can then expand on that idea and experiment within the confines of a healthy, mutual relationship.
I think it's unhealthy to show a young CHILD (yes a 12 year old is a child) a porn and relate it as a normal show of sexual satisfaction. Most porn is NOT just intercourse. It's not just two loving people in a relationship doing it. Hell, most of the time it's not even people who know each other (within character) who are doing it. You want to show a 12 year old that it's just oh so normal to blow the plumber? To have a teacher spank a girl and force a blow job on her? You really think that is a-ok?
LOL when i was 12 and sneaking my older sibs tapes i knew that it wasn't real...i was smart enough to know no fireman came to the door complaining he had a fire in his pants....it was hot was all. I think people assume kids are morons and can't put 2 and 2 together often.

Neither of my sons are morons.
I still don't want them thinking that it is normal (note, I said NORMAL not REAL) for people to just go and have indiscriminate sex. I know how kids minds work. They would think I was condoning that sort of behavior if I were to allow them to watch that sort of thing.
The point is your kids are gonna watch it anyway....so why not at least steer them to something you find more healthy?

It is not something that I will condone.

I won't condone alcohol use.
I won't condone cigarette use.
I won't condone drug use.
I won't condone teenage sex.
I won't condone bullying.
I won't condone porn.
Will my children probably do some of these things? Yes. But I won't condone it and they will be punished for these things if I find out.

Perhaps but maybe that is why Europeans have much lower levels of all those things....because they don't make an issue out of them. No not all kids watch porn but most do....maybe not girls as much as boys on a regular basis but majority will look at it sometime in life.

Of course they wouldn't....they are going to understand it is fantasy if as you say they aren't morons. And since you teach them some values i am sure they get the fact you don't condone them just humping the nurse lol.

I was referring to teen pregnancy and alcohol rates actually. And this Statistics by Country for Sexually Transmitted Diseases - WrongDiagnosis.com says the rates in west europe are much lower....i am looking for another site to see. Porn ins't about learning about sex...it's about a tool for masturbating.

LOL i bought myself a massager but whos counting :-P. But many people don't enjoy imagination...boys esp are visual creatures. And i don't see anything wrong with buying my daughter one once she becomes a young women.
