WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Michigan police said an angry father allegedly drove a car belonging to his daughter's boyfriend onto an icy lake with the teenager still inside.

Police said Scott David Sullivan, 43, of West Bloomfield, arrived at a beach near Pleasant Lake at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and found his 14-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend in the back seat of the boy's parked 2010 Dodge Charger, WDIV-TV, Detroit, reported Wednesday.

Okay... 16-year old boy in a 2010 Charger - working over a 14-year old girl in the back seat.

The kid is a spoiled rotten punk. His parents are probably punks too.

If the 14-year old girl he'd lured into the back seat was my daughter, the kid's car would be the last thing he'd be worrying about.

By the way, let's be intelligent here. This is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It's January. The ice on those lakes is 12-18 inches thick right now. You could drive a semi truck out there with no problem.

1. Bloomfield is a suburb of Detroit nowhere near the UP...
2. "working over" and "lured" ?? Seriously - where did you get that idea? The article said it was her BF. 14 yo girls are perfectly capable of agreeing to hop in the backseat of their boyfriend's car. Trust me on this one.
3. Where did the article give any information that would lead you to believe he is a spoiled rotten punk along with his parents? Personally, I wouln't be having MY 16 yo driving a 2010 Charger but that doesn't mean the kid is a punk....

Maciesmom is correct, Bloomfield is a far cry from the UP, the differences in snowfall and ice coverage is significant between the UP and the Detroit area. As far as the car goes, it probably belongs to the parents.

This guy definitely needs some anger management classes.

No wonder we have so many screwed up kids and pregnant teenage girls.

Hey - here's to rodding around in daddy's new car and porking 14-year old girls! Nothin' wrong with that!

14, huh? So that means I have 10-1/2 years to come up with another plan for dealing with my daughter's future 'suitors'. Somewhere out there is a small boy, maybe now about 6 or 7, who someday I'm going to have to do some serious damage to!

I'm keeping the shotgun cleaning kit handy for when they start showing up...

Personally I don't see anything wrong with what this guy did. The kid didn't get hurt but will remember it a long time!

Points to my pal OR.

I've already had a few talks with my 12 yr old daughter regarding future suiters and my ownership of a shotgun.

I think, as a parent, his first responsibility is to deal with his daughter. This is not all about the boy - otherwise it would have been a story about kidnapping.......Folks, your kids ARE going to become teens one day and at some point will most likely date, and even perhaps spend some amount of time in the backseat of a car. Like it or not. Depending on what exactly was going on back there - it could have been any number of things on the spectrum quite honestly....a person could certainly become angry with the BF but one would have to be equally angry with one's own daughter (BTW, what were they doing out at 1:30 am anyway? Curfew anyone?). I think this dad went WAY overboard in what he did and put himself at risk of a lawsuit if anything had happened to the boy or the car on the ice in the middle of the night. Stupid.
