I was just filling out my census form and for my 3rd child I had to think for a minute or 2 what his date of birth is.

Every time I make a Dr's appt. for him, I'm sure I sound like an idiot to the receptionist because I think for a minute and then stumble through his birth date.

I have 4 kids and it is only with #3 that I have trouble. I feel guilty like I don't care enough about him to remember his birth date, which of course is silly.

Please someone tell me I'm not the only one!

You're not. Sometimes I do the same thing. I've stumbled through birthdates before. Sometimes I have to ask my daughter what our phone number is, or our zip code.

My struggle is remembering our phone number. Three moves in five years and a couple of cell phones are obviously too many for me.

I've got 4 and never had trouble until the last one.

The reason I would stumble was because I went into labor about 10 PM on a Friday and he was born at 10 minutes after midnight, so on Saturday morning. But it was still Friday to me, so I for quite a while wanted to say he was born on the 3rd, when it was actually the 4th.

My problem may be similar he was due on March 5th, which is my FIL's birthday and the day my DH and I started dating, so the day he was due had significance but he decided he wanted to come in Feb. Just making sure he had his own special day!

Thanks to those who have similar problems, misery loves company and all!

I don't really have trouble remembering but then again my child is only 1 and so far he's the only one. Very occasionally I do have to think for half a second because my husband's birthday is Feb 9th and my son's is Feb 5th.

Ha! You are bringing up all kinds of memories for me! My mom registered my sister and I for school when we were younger and my birthday is on the 17th and my sister's is on the 19th. She switched our birthdays around and every time my poor sister was in school (my birthday is in the summer) they would celebrate her birthday on the 17th. Everything had the wrong dates on it...the birthday banners, the signs, etc. We would tell them the right dates, the front office would say they would change them, then we'd start a new year with the wrong dates again. Pretty sure our high schools still have our records incorrect. Oh well.

I get the date right with my kids but often say the wrong year. My youngest daughter's birthday is Valentine's Day so that won't be hard to remember...I always have to take a moment to remember the year, however.

I forget the year but not the date. Dd#2 was born on 12/24/97 and I keep putting down 1998.

This is OT but what are you supposed to do if you don't get a census form? I got a letter telling me I'd be getting one in a week, two weeks ago, but I have yet to get the form. Is there somewhere online you can go to submit the information if you don't get the form?
