That's another place in the 'boonies'. VERY rural area. Gorgeous scenery. Cook Forest is down the road a spell and of course you are in the Alleghenies. It is a very beautiful area though.

Nightlife-redneck country bars placed few and far between. Recreation is usually camping, hunting, fishing, pancake breakfasts and gun raffles....riding 4 wheelers...stuff like that.

Good place for kids to grow up because it is away from alot of city problems. Long drives to shop or do anything.

There is not enough races to have a race problem if you get my drift....but actually MOST people could really care less what color you are.

You going to work for the prison?

like the last poster said, there are no race problems in marienville, mainly because there are not a variety of races. Not a diverse town at all.
I personally really like that area. Life is a lot more relaxed there. Its like time went back 25 years in marienville. There are no red lights in forest county. there's really not much of anything except a few small towns and a lot of forest. marienville has a unimart, a small grocery store that has great peanuts, a hardware store, a pharmacy, a few restaurants, a liquor store, a beer distributor, a few bars, an atv/motorcycle shop and a few small motels. There is a nice park with a ball field and a swimming pool for the kids.
To do grocery shopping, you need to go to brookville, warren or clarion because the only grocery store in town is too small for all of your grocery shopping needs. Each of those towns are about 25-30 minutes away.

Marienville is a town of roughly 1,400 people. The area is beautiful and the job market is virtually non-existant. If you enjoy the outdoors, it is the place for you, If not, I would suggest one of the neighboring towns. Brookville, Ridgway, or Brockway perhaps. The bigger towns in that region include Dubois, St. Marys, Warren and Bradford. That is where you will find any shopping variety at all.
