Lebanon used to be a nice area but there are crime issues. And DEFINITELY stay out of Reading, their crime issues are twice as bad as Lebanon.

This has been very interesting to read, but understand this is 3 years old. Are there any more updates to the areas. We are retiring to PA and am finding it difficult to settle on an area. We are looking at Lancaster, Harrisburg, even Pittsburg but finding the right communities in these areas has been challenging. It sounds like Elizabethtown should be considered, is that still a good option?

I grew up in Lebanon. The "city" of Lebanon is best avoided. That being said, Lebanon County as a whole is quite nice. Boring, but nice. Much of the county is farmland. There are quaint small towns. Mount Gretna has some good events. Harrisburg and Lancaster are nearby if you want a little more activity/shopping. Don't let a small distressed city turn you off to a good overall county.

I don't know much about Elizabethtown, but hear it's nice.

I live in Lebanon and am planning to move upstate. I will be selling a house in the city of Lebanon which is located in a 55+ neighborhood. Lawn care, water and sewer, trash removal and snow removal for $110.00/ month as it stands right now. All properties are held by the owners. Malls nearby.

Talking Lebanon

Anyone familiar with E. Mifflin Street?

I really like the Lancaster feel with the Amish and the farms so I'm not sure about Lebanon but I really know so little about it.

Can anyone give me an idea of what it is like?

Thanks.
I have lived in Lebanon all my life I love it totally move
