"Eraserhood" I can handle, for it originated among some artist types who settled in this district and wanted to play up its connections with filmmaker David Lynch, who once lived there and filmed some of the scenes in "Eraserhead" in it. But otherwise, you won't hear me call it by any name other than Callowhill. I can barely tolerate "Loft District" even, but at least it describes a characteristic of all the old factories and warehouses that now contain most of its housing stock.
Newbies, who may end up living there might call it, Spring Arts, eventually. But real locals/natives/people whose neighborhood it is or people who live near it(me) will probably continue to call it Poplar or Callowhill. I love calling it Eraserhead. So apt!

"Art Museum" is another one of those RE terms that people still try to use when it's Fairmount which, of course, is the name of the hill where the PMA is located.

I'm disappointed to see the discussions we typically have on the Philly forum have shifted to this thread, all in response to the histrionics of a somewhat unhinged Pittsburgh poster.

LMAO ... I haven't said a word on this TIRED thread in days, yet you Self-Conscious, Insecure Philly boosters keep going on and on and on and on. If not for wpipkins2 somewhat playing along here, you'd be talking to yourselves, how scary is that.

It's easy to blame it all on the "unhinged Pittsburgh poster" kind of like "blame it all on Obama", but you dozen or so narcissistic homers need to look in the mirror.

You guys got some serious inferior image issues when it comes to Philly.

I still read this thread, but I transitioned all of my Philly related posts to 2035, retail, suburban main streets, etc. This thread is old news.

I think I did mention this upthread. Or rather too many of those belong on the Philly board.

Tangentially, I find this board to be unfortunate in that we, as folks living and caring about either or both place(s), we should try to have more common ground. We shouldn't be "fighting" each other when our collective problem, as it were, is the rest of Pennsylvania which is failing.

The tunnel in question is the Fort Pitt, from which you emerge onto the bridge of the same name with the Golden Triangle dead ahead of you.

Without a doubt the best highway approach to any city in Pennsylvania, and probably one of the best to any city in the United States, if not the best.
